Just looking into a policy for my partner and I, he's 48 I'm 39 and we have 2 babies. We own our house outright but I need the security of some money should the worst happen. I've recently heard about vitality and I love the idea of you're active you can get up to 40% off your policy! We walk lots and I think this would be a great incentive to do more. Does anyone know anything about this please?

I have their health insurance, which I assume has similar benefits. We use some of them, like the free coffee at Nero, cash back at Waitrose on healthy food. Have you checked out other providers? The cynic in me says the 40% off means other providers will be priced lower than them.

We have their health insurance through DP work and whilst it is has great perks it is an absolute pig when it comes to claiming for medical expenses.

I have had their Life Insurance for a few decades now but very fortunately have never had to make a claim (touching wood). I would very much focus on what the policies cover that you’re comparing. Some exclude a lot of illnesses you may want covered. I’d ignore the ‘discounts’ as they’re a bit of a folly as far as I can make out. The problem with any type of insurance is that you only find out how good it is when you need it & it’s too late.

They are cheap if you continue to be active throughout the duration of your plan. For most people they are not active all for all of the time and they revert to old habits, then you don’t get the discounts. If you a full on active health bunny at the gym lots etc, always have been and always will be, then great go for it. If not, you’d be better with an alternative conventional provider.
