AJ Bell lifetime ISA investment - general thoughts?

I’m in my mid-thirties, and over the last couple of years I’ve saved around £15k and put it in a cash lifetime ISA.

As I can only withdraw the funds in my lifetime ISA at 60, I’ve now transferred the cash LISA to a stocks and shares LISA, as I felt the cash savings would likely depreciate between now and when I can withdraw them at 60.

I’ve transferred the money to a lifetime ISA with AJ Bell. The process of checking in on the investments and the fact it’s done on an app looks straightforward, so that’s helpful.

As I’m very new to stocks and shares lifetime ISAs though, just wondering if anyone’s invested with AJ Bell or anyone similar before and what your experiences have been?

Thanks!

Hi yes I have a S&S ISA and JISA for DC

I mainly invest in funds and have invested in a moderate adventurous one and a high risk one not mega bucks just enough that I'm seeing decent returns but if it went tits up I wouldn't be destitute!!

Made more money than I ever would on interest in a bank ISA and keep some money in the ISA as cash

Angell have slot of investment ideas on the website for new investors and check out Russ mould on YouTube

Fab thank you Ceecee - I’ll definitely check out Russ Mould and look up AJ Bell’s investment ideas.

I’ve invested in a moderately adventurous portfolio with AJ Bell, so will see how that goes.

I’m not planning on withdrawing the funds until 60 (as I’d have to pay a penalty for withdrawing before then anyway), so hoping the money will have time to grow and for any market downturns to be evened out over time.

I use AJ Bell for Junior ISAs and a Stocks and Shares ISA. It’s straightforward to use and They provide great information on investments. You can buy funds or stocks monthly for £1.50; if you buy or sell stocks or funds as a one-off, it’s £9.95. Keep an eye on fees as managed funds can eat into your gains. Tracker funds are cheaper as they automatically follow an index like the FTSE.

If you are interested in stocks, you can find good guides on the Motley Fool, Simply Wall St and a great blog called Seven Circles.
