Where to invest £60k?

I have been deterred as of late to invest any further in the property market due to Brexit and economic uncertainly.
I would like to raise a small income from this £60k but I have no prior experience in stocks/shares/funds.

Another member mentioned AJ Bell-sticking it in and forgetting about it?
Do we have any other thoughts on where these funds would be best placed.
Wealthify?

Or do I buy a property in Lisbon?

Or do I part invest in a shared property fund? With links to the commercial sector?

Vanguard has a low cost investment platform in the UK.
What country are you in, as what you can do will vary by country?

Maximise use of tax wrappers like Pension and ISA.

Why do you want income from the £60k, are you over retirement age?

Im based in the UK and work as a self employed builder/heating engineer.
My two boys are 3 and 7 months so I would like a 'get out plan' in order to spend time with the family.
I could probably raise £70-80k via a remortgage but the thought of placing these funds into Vanguard or AJ Bell is frightening.
So a small income in order to work a 5 day week and not 7 would be a blessing.
The wealthify account has increased by 16.2% in the last 18 months but has performed at only 2.3% over the last 3 months. I only have a £100 in there in order to check performance.

I would need access to living/emergency funds of say £20k for the wife and kids and the remaining can sit in Vanguard on a moderate portfolio?
I believe with the Vanguard ISA you can sell and withdraw funds within 5-7 days into your account so if I needed any of the investment I can access it in quick order...I believe?

It seems so alien to not to put the money back into property in the UK but all the warning signs are there!

watching with interest as dad's probate should be clear soon and mum is wondering about this as well.

I am nervous of any investment funds though! She'll expect me to choose for her.

Using debt to invest is a bad idea in my view.
However it isn't everyone's view... so do some research about that.
