Is Arbonne business opportunity a scam?

I was recently approached by someone who is an area manager for Arbonne. Sold me the story of the dream. Network marketing and earning 6 figures and a white merc for a few hours work per week. The products are promoted as "pure and safe, vegan and gluten free". Upon research I noticed the ingredients are certainly not "pure" as contain plastics etc. which raised my concerns over the entire business opportunity. Does anyone have experience of the company and Is it worthwhile investing or an I wasting my time and cash?

It's multi level marketing

doodlejump1980 · 12/07/2019 11:46

Run away. Run away very fast. You will lose all your friends by trying to sell to them.

MonkeyTrap · 12/07/2019 11:48

It’s a load of crap. I someone purport to be a friend and met for coffee with them several times only for them to ask for £1k and present me with this business “opportunity” watch the multi level millionaire on BBC3 it’s very insightful.

Yes and you’ll lose not only your friends and family’s respect for you but also your own.

Network marketing and earning 6 figures and a white merc for a few hours work per week.

You'd think by now even they realise how ridiculous this sounds.

Come on OP, surely you can see how nonsensical such outrageous claims are - or everyone would be working for them!

popehilarious · 12/07/2019 12:32

Scam. Pyramid scheme. Ask to see sales figures and commission of the last person she recruited - actual figures in black and white. They won't provide it because it's bollocks.
Anyone you know who wants to buy Arbonne will already know several sellers they can get it from. It's a saturated market where only about 5 people are making more than min wage.

JustHereWithPopcorn · 12/07/2019 12:36

Their products are expensive you would be lucky to find anyone who wants to buy them

My neighbour works for arbonne. She’s lovely but won’t stop trying to recruit me/sell things to me!

cherriesandoranges · 12/07/2019 13:21

@soberken thanks. I can't find the thread. Do you know what it's called.

cherriesandoranges · 12/07/2019 13:24

@greenchilly123 the strange thing is I've been told not to focus on the products, focus on the business opportunity. Stop asking questions about the products etc makes me think it cd be a littledodgy!

Just research MLM's and Pyramid schemes.

Watch the BBC documentary that was on a few weeks ago.

Please don't get sucked in, don't waste your time, energy and your money.

CodenameVillanelle · 12/07/2019 13:31

Oh my god run like the wind. It's a total scam.

GroggyLegs · 12/07/2019 13:37

No business plan where they try to saturate one market with as many reps as possible will ever succeed.

YOU are the end customer - they make their money from YOU purchasing the starter kit or whatever.

MLMs disgust me, they really do.

MLM Bot Watch 51: the Cult of multilevel marketing http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/legalmoneyy_matters/3592698-MLM-Bot-Watch-51-the-Cult-of-multilevel-marketing

OutComeTheWolves · 13/07/2019 09:30

@GroggyLegs has nailed it. It totally works for the people at the top of the pyramid as long as you're aware that you'll be the customer as you'll keep buying more and more of your own shite to remain at whatever crappy level you've been 'promoted' too. This isn't a secret by the way - they literally tell you to be your own best customer.

It's like an expensive really shite cult. Personally if I wanted to spend a fortune and lose the respect of those around me, I can think of way more fun ways to do it than hawking crap to my family and friends.

Namechangeforthiscancershit · 13/07/2019 09:32

She actually told you not to focus too much on the products Grin

cherriesandoranges · 13/07/2019 10:15

@Namechangeforthiscancershit yes. Told me I was missing the big picture as the business isn't about the products.........

OP posts:
GroggyLegs · 13/07/2019 10:21

Well yes cherries she's telling you that you too can have a career making false promises and ripping off other women.

It's not about the products but it's certainly not about having morals or integrity either.
