Premium bonds

Has anyone ever known anyone to actually win the high amounts? I know people who have large amounts and small amounts of premium bonds but only ever win the odd 25 wins ever so often. I've never heard of or know anyone to win the large amounts

I don't personally know anyone who has won the million, but know people who have won £1000 up to £25000.
I have friends who reckon they won a small amount virtually every month, which must add up.

@BackforGood yes I bet it does add up! Probably better than some interest rates. I was just curios as I've never heard of anyone ever winning anything more than £25-50

I won £1000 a few years ago and win smaller amounts £25/£50 a few times a year!

How much do you need to have in to be in with a reasonable chance of winning something

It's one in 24,000, according to the NS&I site, which I would say from my experience is about right. A few years ago, I used to do quite well with them, but it's not so worthwhile now.

Yes, I know someone who had a big win - my father had one in the 80s. He was sensible with the money and invested it well, and it changed his life, to an extent.

Have had them for 40 years and have won £50 total in that time Hmm

I have £15.000 and average £25 monthly. Occasionally nothing but balanced out by 2 X &25 sometimes.
