Best savings option for child?

I want to set up accounts for my 2 DC- both under 3.

Not looking at putting in lots as we also have family savings but would like to have a little that is purely in their names for when they are older that grandparents could also contribute to.

Would probably pay in £50 per month per child. Have read about JISA’s and am considering a stocks and shares one because of how long the money will be there.

Does anyone have any advice on the best type of account or company to use?

Hi,

It's great that you're doing this for your kids. So many in the past did so little with money the government gave them for their kids.

I dont know the entire market and am not a financial adviser but Charles Stanley direct offer jisas starting at £50 PM. Legal and General offer junior isas from £20 PM.

We're using YouInvest as a platform to buy such investments. It has very low fees and I find it useful as it's super easy to manage alongside our ISAs and SIPPs. For JISAs, we picked several funds (there are thousands to choose from).

Hello! I have junior ISAs for my 2 children, and I feel like it was a good choice to open them. They can't access the ISAs until they are 18, when the accounts will turn into normal ISA accounts. I have the accounts with idealing.com and it couldn't be easier. Hope this helps!
