Should I move my children's S&S ISAs out of UK funds?

Just that really. They have relatively small amounts in various funds, £1-2k each, but I notice the UK funds are doing worse than say the global and Asia Pacific ones.

I don't want to make a knee-jerk reaction based on brexit, but I'm happy to admit I'm clueless - their ISAs are my first S&S investments and I really don't know what to do for the best.

My gut instinct is to take those lumps in the UK funds and move them to non-UK ones but is that a big no no? I don't want to just do nothing and then feel like a naive idiot if it all goes pear-shaped at the end of March and I should have been more in the ball.

Any advice much appreciated Blush

I've got some money in a smaller companies investment trust and a ftse 100 tracker. I'm quite happy to stick with these, I think a labour government rather than brexit is the biggest threat to the stock market.

One thing I would advise is to check the charges on the funds themselves and on the isa wrapper are not excessive.

Thanks both - I will check on charges

What funds are they in? To be honest, a FTSE 100 tracker is not a bad thing - lots of the companies' revenue if from overseas, so shouldn't be that badly affected.

I wouldn’t have 100% of a portfolio in the UK. The uk represents less than 10% of global markets. Uk funds have a place but personally I’d be happier with a global focus rather than overweighting one market.

Have a look at monevetor for tips re constructing a balanced passive portfolio monevator.com/the-slow-and-steady-passive-portfolio-update-q4-2018/

I wouldnt go 100% anything. Think wide diversification and low charges. Think Vanguard life strategy ,even cheaper on vanguards own website, also HSBC global strategy range,,all low charges (AMC)

I’d be moving some out of UK because a well diversified global portfolio is the only way to sensibly invest. Nothing to do with Brexit.
