Opening a Brokerage Account

I've signed up for a brokerage account on Interactive Investors. However, they need me to find some FCA regulated firms to sign a "Verification of Identity form". Neither my bank nor the post office would sign this.

Does anyone know where to sort out this document? (and the costs) I'm based in Oxford.

Do they give you an option to send your identity documents directly to them?

They need someone FCA regulated to complete a form in addition to sending them the certified identity documents. Certifying IDs is easy - the post office can do it, but completing the form is something different.

Sounds to me like they don't know what they are doing. There is a JMLSG form filled in by one FCA authorised firm introducing clients to another, but it doesn't sound like you're being introduced to them. They should only need documents, proof of address and your NI number. Worth querying.

Identity verification is not a service generally offered on its own.
