Does anyone actually trust them? Can anyone recommend one who isn't ultimately only interested in the commission they can earn from your money?

Avoid any representatives from St James Place (SJP).

I like to think that my clients trust me, and I do end up doing a fair bit of pro bono work too as I am more interested in ensuring they have good advice than the fees I earn. Look for a member of the Personal Finance Society..... They have a strong code of ethics.

We don't earn commission, it's fee only now. I too do far too much according to our MD pro bono work, including Citizens Advice.

Do not use St James's Place, use an IFA.

Hi cushion53, So you need the financial advisor, I would like to aware of you of some FinTech startups which provides digital wealth management services. The fintech's such as SAMT AG, Vaamo and Scalable Capital focused on automating investment and asset management (the so-called “robo-advisors”).

These firms use proprietary software having its unique algorithms to offer portfolios which are dynamically optimised with a primary focus on risk management.

I am also aware of the blog: www.ways2wealth.com/ where we can build a free portfolio. On Ways2Wealth we can get free financial advice also their professional scientific researchers have re-invented passive investment strategies and many other financial models which we can access for free.
