Hi! I am due to have an embryo transfer on Tuesday and contemplating flying home on the same day ..
transfer at 2pm.. 2.5 hour flight at 11pm.
Anyone done this and also had a successful pregnancy?

I did, twice! Specifically asked the clinic their opinion and all the doctors insisted it would be fine. In the first 24 hours the embryo is just hatching and preparing, it really "doesn't know" what is happening to your body ☺️

First time I had entirely uneventful journey, sadly that transfer ended in chemical pregnancy.

Second time had absolutely horrible time: flight was delayed, then rerouted to another airport, I've ended up arriving 7 hours late after long night-time wait at an empty local airport, and replacement bus journey. I was really worried the stress and sleeplessness will ruin my chances, but actually that transfer was successful!

The advice is always to try and get lots of sleep and keep stress levels down, but it turns out our bodies are quite resilient.

Ah thanks so much for that! What a terrible journey you had home but amazing even with that your embie stuck!
I’m just a little torn as I’m leaving my 11m old to go for transfer … if I took the 11pm flight home I’d be home so much quicker … it would just be a long day … flying over on the 6.40am flight and back on the 11pm .. I am thinking I’ll just see how it goes and if I feel ready I’ll just switch my flight last minute … I dread the thought of leaving him but just wondering if I’m forgetting how ‘fragile’ I’ll feel after transfer …

Yes, I did this and was fine. You want to be there the night before so no issues with missing anything, prob won't sleep brilliantly and will be glad to get home. You've plenty of time.

Not flight but train, around 6-7hours, then a 4 hour car journey the next day! First successful pregnancy (and transfer). My only thing was not allowing one iota of stress and doing no lugging of luggage. I had a strong healthy looking person put my luggage away for me hehe.
