Feeling panicky after embryo transfer despite wanting a baby- anyone else?

I had my transfer 3 days ago and since then I’ve been feeling a lot of feelings of fear and panic. I had wanted this for so long but now the reality of potentially having a little baby has set in. I hate that I’m even feeling like this. Has anyone else felt similar?

I think just the big life change this could possibly (hopefully) be

I am really lucky to have DD who is 4 (ivf to try for our second). It is completely life changing and can be so hard (especially the new born stage), but it's definitely worth it.
I have panicky monent like 'life is good now, why are we trying to change it' but then I calm down. There's a lot of stress and hormones which are probably not helping you.

Yes that’s how I feel, and I don’t really cope well with change but I also know this is what I want

Maybe you could try to think in baby step and don't look too far ahead for now. Baby step one - get through the tww. And then each baby step after that. All going well, you have months to get your head round it.

I felt so 'unready' when I was pregnant with my daughter. I was quite focused on the negatives (like lack of sleep!) and how much our lives would change.

You’re totally allowed to feel both things! That you want a baby and also omg what if I have a baby. I think most people will feel a mix of things (I have!) even though they’ve fought so hard to have a baby.

@Flipper42 I totally feel you I was fine going through ivf even the wait for a test
I got my positive and am now 11 weeks so still early days but now I’ve got thins far it’s major panic setting in
i have had a few transfers most ended in a very early miscarriage now I’ve got past that phase reality it hitting we have an 11 year old and been trying since for a sibling

I do think it’s all the emotional build up of treatment and then when it comes to it it becomes a scary thought of the what ifs and how it will change our life’s, id say all for the better but nerves are perfectly normal
sending positive vibes to you
