Feeling desperate… has anyone had success after 5 transfers?

Sunnydaysahead1 · 15/01/2026 17:35

I’m currently waiting to do my 5th FET after four failed transfers (plus losing an embryo to the thaw). I’ve also recently received the results of NK cell testing which came back normal which was quite a surprise, as I was sure that could be the reason why it hasn’t been working. I’ve also done microbiome testing which initially wasn’t good but has improved since taking probiotics etc.
I have endometriosis which I had surgery for last year which I also hoped would help, but had another failed transfer afterwards.

I’m basically spiralling a bit as it feels like it’s never going to work for me, and I was hoping the NK cell testing would give some answers but it hasn’t. The only thing different this time is we’ll be using a euploid embryo (the others weren’t tested) so I’m hoping that will help.

Has anyone else had success on their 5th transfer? And is there anything else I’m missing? I’ve previously done a hysteroscopy which was fine, I eat healthily, do acupuncture etc.. I’m just feeling such a lack of hope and dreading taking a pregnancy test 😩

Ps. Sending loads of love to anyone reading this, it’s such a tough ride ❤️

@Sunnydaysahead1 - you are now the person with success after 5 failed transfers! Congratulations 🎉

Glad to hear scan went well. Seeing a heartbeat is so great - really improves statistics on outcomes. You’ve come so far. Best wishes for the rest of the pregnancy.

Fantastic news! Good luck for your next couple of scans and wishing you a smooth pregnancy ❤️

rockinrobins · 11/03/2026 06:44

I'm so relieved for you @Sunnydaysahead1 and happy that you had that magical moment of seeing a heartbeat after all the pain and the massive journey you have been on (and are still on) to get to this point. What a moment that is, eh??!

I'm feeling very invested despite being online and not having met you!

I hope you can rest a bit easier now knowing that tiny heart is beating away inside you 💓💓

Thank you all so much for your lovely messages. Sadly things have taken a turn and I’ve had a missed miscarriage. We went for our scan at our IVF clinic yesterday hoping to be discharged after all this time, however there was no heartbeat and the baby had stopped growing.

We’re shocked and heartbroken, have been at the epu last night and all day since 10am this morning, hoping to finally see a dr and go home soon.

I’m so deeply sad, I really had hoped it was finally our turn, but I guess not this time. I wish there were more answers as to why this has happened, especially with a euploid, and I’m scared there’s something wrong with my body that just won’t let me carry a baby. But we’ll try again as soon as we’re able to.

Thanks once again everyone for your messages over the last couple of months, it has been a lifeline for me during a very anxious period. 🩷

@rockinrobins thats such a sweet message from you, thank you so much. Hopefully next time we will get there 💕

@Sunnydaysahead1, I'm so sorry for your loss, that's such heart-breaking news for you both. Just seems so unfair after all you've been through. I hope you're being looked after and finding some energy to be kind to yourself. Sending lots of virtual hugs.

@Sunnydaysahead1 so sorry to hear this ! I hope you are ok, I had this twice so I sympathise with you deeply ! Can I ask have you been checked for sticky bloods ? I had blood thinners this time round and am now 24 weeks pregnant, never had the blood thinners before so not sure if it’s this that it worked this time but is it worth asking or pushing for blood thinners ? We had 6 implant then come away again all between 4-11 weeks , but this one stuck, also have you checked the uterine environment at all ? We had a biopsy of the uterus and found out o had a small bacterial infection so again , not sure if this helped at all ? Vaginal probiotics can help, best of luck for your future 💛✨🤞🏽

Miraclemuma03 · 14/03/2026 23:26

Im so very sorry for your loss. How heartbreaking. I thought for sure this was your time.

Sunnydaysahead1 · 15/03/2026 13:41

@WildForTheNight thank you so much, definitely struggling at the moment but we’re resilient and I know we’ll be ok eventually. How are you getting on? And results back from your PGT testing yet?

@AmberRose26 oh my goodness I’m so sorry you’ve had so much loss, that must have been so impossibly hard. I’m so happy to hear you are now 24 weeks, that’s incredible. I haven’t been tested for sticky bloods, so thank you for letting me know about that I’m definitely going to push for it. I did take baby aspirin this time just in case, but maybe I need a stronger blood thinner. Was it just a blood test you had? I’ve had a biopsy of my uterus and a hysteroscopy and that was all fine. So I’m really wondering if blood clotting might be my problem…

@Miraclemuma03 thank you so much lovely, me too. I just can’t believe we’ve been unlucky yet again. How are you getting on?

@Sunnydaysahead1 I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It’s heartbreaking and can feel really lonely at times too. Hopefully having somewhere to chat or vent can help the tiniest bit. Hope you’ve got some good support irl too, take care ❤️

AmberRose26 · 17/03/2026 10:09

@Sunnydaysahead1 yes a blood test to check for clotting issues (antiphospholipid or APS ) then they do another blood test so many weeks later and take the 2nd test result as your result. The baby aspirin I was put on after 12 weeks pregnant, it’s was a blood thinner injection I had from transfer and this seemingly does a slight different job and would be used for APS which asprin isn’t quite used for, the blood thinner injection is was on (Inhixa) helps with the implantation part, the baby asprin thins the blood a different way that supports the placenta more efficiently.. after 8 weeks or so after implantation the blood thinner which is a low molecular weight herpin isn’t any good any more as it’s just to support implantation and asprin support the placenta then after this stage .. but if you didn’t have APS you wouldn’t need the blood thinner injections, so it’s not about stronger blood thinner as such, just a different kind that supports a different job. May be worth looking into as APS can cause implantation issues, hope this helps

Just checking in @Sunnydaysahead1- how are you doing? Can imagine it's been a very difficult week.

Our PGT-A results have come back and it's a euploid embryo. One small step in the right direction but a lot more steps to go, so just trying to enjoy the sunshine and the weekend for now. Sending you lots of love.

Hi, I’m really sorry you’re going through this—it’s such a tough and emotional journey.
The first time I heard about IVF was about 15 years ago, from a dad I met on a playground. He told me it took them more than 10 cycles before they finally had their son.
Don’t think there’s something wrong with your body. Very often it’s about finding the right approach and the right doctors who can tailor treatment specifically to you.
Last week I was reading some fertility journeys on the Fertility Road website, and I highly recommend it. The stories are complex but ultimately successful, and what I find especially helpful is that they include detailed medical backgrounds, what treatments were used, and which clinics were involved. You might even find a case similar to yours and see what worked for them. Also, experience vary between clinics, especially for more complex cases. One couple had failed treatments in the UK, then in Greece, and only found success in Spain on their second attempt there, using a less standard, more tailored approach.
Try to stay positive and give yourself space to recharge when you can. What I also appreciate in these stories is that they’re honest, people share their doubts, moments of wanting to give up, and how hard it all is. But when they do succeed, almost all of them say the same thing: keep believing and don’t give up. Fingers crossed for you 🤍

I‘m so sorry to hear this, incredibly tough for you. I’m going to be going into my fifth transfer and it is very hard to hold onto hope! Have you got some embryos left? I’ve had 3 euploids fail so going to do some immune testing now. X

rockinrobins · 24/03/2026 07:07

@Sunnydaysahead1 I'm so sorry. That is heartbreaking after so much hope. What a hideous and relentless journey this is.
Just sending my thoughts and so much hope your way.
You are incredible to keep going - I know you just do because you have to - but still, you are so strong and, as you say, resilient, which is something you really really need.
You deserve this so much, I really hope you get your little one 💛

flowergirl2020 · 10/04/2026 13:08

So sorry for what you have gone through. That’s so very tough xx

Sunnydaysahead1 · 22/04/2026 21:01

Thank you all so much for all your comments, and I’m sorry I’ve been so slow to reply, I took a bit of time away from this site for a bit. I really appreciate everything you’ve all said ❤️
How are you all doing with your own journeys?

We are currently in process of moving our remaining embryos to a new clinic, as we needed to try something different, plus I couldn’t bear the thought of going back into the ultrasound room where we found out the devastating news. Just waiting for my period to start now (no idea when that will happen!) and I’ll start another FET. This time I’ll be on blood thinners, steroids and intralipids, all of which I’ve not tried before so I’m hoping it works!

@WildForTheNight oh wow that’s amazing news that it’s a euploid! How are you getting on now? ❤️

I really hope the new clinic can help you with a healthy pregnancy. Its just a long journey.

FancyGoose · 23/04/2026 12:59

Thanks for the update @Sunnydaysahead1 . I hope you are feeling a bit better after your break and I really hope this new clinic brings you success. Life is so cruel sometimes but you're amazingly strong and brave for keeping on at it. Really wishing you all the luck in the world. Xx
