Ok. So I’m 43. 44 in Nov. Have a child 10 years old. Natural. Partner also has 2 children. He is 42. I do Still have periods, and often ovulate twice a month. However…. Periods Are getting irregular now though. Can be from 26-40 days. Am looking into IVF in Turkey, Prague and Cyprus. My question is I don’t want to book it etc then my period doesn’t come when we’re due to go. Then I can’t start taking the medication and then it’s all messed up for the egg retrieval etc. I have read on here women get the medication in the uk even if there doing the ivf abroad. So how does it work with egg collection etc? Also I may need donor egg. So again how does this work with periods that are not exact?!

You sound a bit all over the place. Take a breath. These are questions that a reputable fertility clinic will be able to answer. They will have experience of irregular cycles, women who ovulate, women who don't. There's medication to delay your period, medication to stop you ovulating before your egg retrieval, etc etc. Figure out what your first steps are. If you want to do IVF with your own eggs then at your age, realise that this is unlikely to work given age-related egg quality. You can have blood tests done to assess AMH (egg reserve) but this doesn't indicate egg quality. Overseas IVF clinics can prescribe medication that can be sourced in the UK. Private scans can also be done in the UK. I would suggest finding a local fertility clinic to get a consultation and a fertility MOT (blood tests, uterine scan, sperm analysis) - get a wider picture of where you both are and then make a plan from there.

I would say do your research and find a clinic you think will suit you and have a consultation and they can inform you what the best nexts steps are. Whether you try one or two cycles with your own eggs first after some investigations or move straight to DE and the clinic will hook you up with everything you need.

Hi there,
My name is T, and I am a personal assistant and international coordinator for an IVF clinic in Kyrenia. We are currently in the process of launching a prestigious new hospital in Kyrenia, while our existing clinic continues to operate successfully with international patients from all over the world.

We pride ourselves on our high success rates and highly personalised care, available almost around the clock. Our services include various donor programmes, treatment for advanced maternal age, and the latest genetic testing methods (PGD (FISH) and NGS). It's true that we start stimulation while you're still in the comfort of your own home – we have online pharmacies that will deliver the medication to your doorstep. On day 9 of your stimulation, we will greet you in Cyprus for a day 10 scan, and we aim to have you here for a week – 11 days maximum. The donors are healthy young ladies with an age range of 20-28 (so we can get healthier eggs – as much as possible). - We give a guarantee of a minimum of 10 eggs. We align the donors' period with your period to ensure the best outcome.

In addition, we utilise advanced technologies and treatment add‑ons designed to maximise success rates as much as possible.

If I can be of assistance, I would be delighted to help. Please feel free to reach out to me directly at my work number: +90 548 823 0873.

Kind regards,
T

First, it’s important to do your research on clinics abroad. Some are much more experienced with international patients and can coordinate treatment with your local doctor or clinic, while others may be less flexible.
You can find lists of reputable clinics on platforms like fertility clinics abroad, fertility road, or egg donation friends. However, the fastest and most practical approach is often to ask their coordinators. They can recommend clinics that match your criteria and confirm whether they can coordinate treatment with local providers or offer flexible arrangements for international patients.
Ultimately, it depends on each clinic’s approach, so asking the right questions early on will save you time and stress.
