Thin womb lining

I feel guilty and terrible, like my body is failing me…
I am going though FET, we have tried fresh egg transfer but it did not work as my lining was not thick enough, now in my FET my endometrium is like a jojo going from 6.3 to 5.9 after almost 3 weeks of oestrogen tablets and 1 patch every 3 days. Today we decided to cancel the transfer, endometrium is refusing to corporate and doctors don’t want to make a transfer for less than 7mm.
On the outside i am trying to keep it together but on the inside it is tearing me apart. Not mentioning the total chaos in my head, i have always been calm and collected and i just don’t feel like myself anymore.
my husband does not understand it. To him its just a scan to me its like another scan and another blood test and another fail.
I feel very lonely, anyway.
I am looking for advice on what i can do to support my womb lining growth, any supplements i can take?
maybe someone had similar experience and could share what helped.
thank you

My close friend had this and ended up doing a mild stim cycle for her final cycle so that is always a back up!
I know she tried all sorts of weird and wonderful things including viagra and l'arginine.
Her case was extreme but she has gone on to have 3 children so definitely can be overcome. Good luck!

Hey OP, I had this happen! It was really upsetting and frustrating, i really sympathise.

My 1st FET attempt was cancelled for thin lining, 2nd attempt I was on max dose oestrogen pessaries, patches and pills and after 3 weeks of not much progress/up and down, I got to 6.8 or so and went ahead with a FET, which didn't work (could have been lining, or unrelated)

After this, I had a hysteroscopy to remove some residual scar tissue from a d&c, I'd already had hysteroscopies to remove adhesions and scarring but my Dr thought this could be 1 things affecting my lining.

For 3rd go, we also did IVF stims again, and that worked a lot better for me - he said some people just don't respond well to artificial oestrogen and its more effective to grow follicles and your own hormones to boost the lining. I also took l'argenine, drank beetroot juice and raspberry leaf too and had a womb massage - dunno if that helped, I suspect it was the drugs, but that cycle I got to 7mm trilaminar lining and my Dr said that was good to go. That transfer was successful and I'm now 31 weeks

I did discuss viagra but my Dr said while it wouldn't hurt, he didn't think it does much (he had the same feeling about the juice/tea/supplements, but it made me feel I was doing everything I could!)

Were you allowed to have a transfer below 7mm? i doing my ivf via guy’s hospital in london and they told me 7mm is what they need to give me green light.

I did ask the doctor if there is anything i can do ie. supplements, but she said … not really.

Yeah my Dr said they aim for 7+ but the different between 7 and like 6.8 is so minimal/a different scanner could measure it differently, but that also the success rates for a but under 7 aren't hugely different. They also said trilaminar appearance important and a slightly thinner lining that looked right would be fine. My Dr was the one doing my embryo transfer and he did check it on transfer day, which they don't usually do, and it was over 8 which he was happy with, but trigger shot happened at 7 or just under and it worked

You are not alone @Kalaxtheres a Facebook group called Thin Endometrium Lining Support and it has LOADS of people in it.

in my experience some people just do not react as well to artificial eostrogen. Mine also kept collapsing back down. Have you tried a natural cycle? There’s also a protocol where they give you some stims to help your body produce its own eostrogen.

Did they tell you if you had triple lining? Have you had any surgeries on your uterus that could have caused scar tissue?

For me, no matter what I did my lining would never get over 7mm. My doctor said some women just naturally have thiner linings. In the end I transferred on a 6.5 lining (with triple layer) and I am currently 26 weeks pregnant.

loads of women on the facebook group have got pregnant with thin linings, even linings under 5mm, so do not panic.

I would suggest trying different protocols to see if it makes any difference. Unfortunately it is a bit trial and error. if you think you may have scar tissue on your uterus this can cause thin lining but they can do a procedure to remove the scar tissue.

I had the same thing happen to me in October, I cancelled the transfer and had a bleed then went again with 3 patches and 3 tablets a day, I was also on low dose aspirin (not 100% sure if that effects lining or not!) but my next transfer my lining thickened, I can't remember the exact amount but I want to say about 8mm and that transfer was successful, good luck xx

So sorry you’re struggling!
I had a similar experience. My lining was always on the thinner side. First transfer I think it was at 7.2mm (failed)
second transfer it got to 6.2mm. I was stressed almost cancelled the transfer but my doctors said the appears was much more important and in there years of experience found this to be more of an indicator for success and pushed me to go ahead with the transfer. That transfer worked, my girl is now a year old.

like previous posters, I drank raspberry LEAF tea (not just raspberry has to be raspberry LEAF) drank beetroot juice & put myself on a low dose of aspirin. Although it didn’t thicken my lining it helped with blood flow.
