Progesterone 25.6 nmol/l - is this low?

Hi all,

Myself and my partner have been TTC for 9 months with no luck. We've been undergoing testing with a private fertility clinic. Due to annual leave they've sent me my progesterone results without the doctor having reviewed them and I'm trying to work out if they're low or not. The results were 25.6 nmol/l and some pages on google suggest 30nmol/l is optimal for implantation. My cycles are extremely regular and I use ovulation tests so I'm pretty sure I ovulated but it's whether my levels are too low for implantation. Does anyone have any advice on whether this is low or not? If you had a similar result, did you eventually get pregnant?

What day of your cycle was the test done?

You ovulated with that level. You probably missed the peak.

They use 30+ as a guide to confirm ovulation but it's always with a pinch of salt. My doctor wanted me to repeat the test the next cycle to check and my levels were a bit higher.

Ovulation tests show that your body tried to ovulate but they don't give a 100% guarantee which is why doctors use progesterone to check as well.

Thank you! I've had an email to say the doctor is reviewing the result today so hopefully I'll get some further guidance soon...

The test doesn't need to be done on day 21. It needs to be done in the middle of your luteal phase. Usually around 6-8dpo. Otherwise it's not accurate

Day 21 is around 6-8 dpo for me.

My understanding is you ideally want it over 30 but anecdotally lots of people seem to get pregnant with that level no issue. I’ve always been between 25-30 but had a few. Chemicals and no pregnancy so wonder if that’s been part of the issue. I’m on letrozole now which has boosted progesterone

Hi i am in a really similar situation to you , ive just received my results today they were 22nmol/l but i have regular periods, positive lh test, symptomatic like progesterone has raised normal ultrasound. I did have my bloods 8dpo because thats the only time i could go all they have written on as comments is for fertility clinic, but i think that was the plan regardless but this is through the gp , we have been trying for 3 years but my husband has low morphology
