Hi ladies, help!!
iv just found out that my 6th embryo transfer didn’t work.
here’s my history-
2019 natural pregnancy (emergency c section)
2020/2021- 3 ectopics & 1 side tube removal.
2023- began our ivf journey. So far 2 rounds-
1- 4 eggs retrieved, 4 blasts.
4ab (fresh) early chemical
5bb failed to thaw.
4bb came out as 3BB & BFP & miscarriage at 7 weeks.
4bc kept on ice & started round 2
Round 2- 8 eggs,
6 blasts but only 1 transferred & 3 suitable for freezing, 2 discarded.
5bb hatching, fresh, early chemical.
4bb FET failed.
3bb came out as 2cb failed
Last 3BB & previous 4bc came out as 1cc & 2cc double transfer failed.
had short protocol, natural modified & fully medicated as well as zoladex long protocol.
I’m now 37,normal amh etc, bmi 33 🫣 hubby normal sperm tests etc.
HELP!
Before embarking on my next round of ivf- what tests should I be asking for, any recommendation for male supplements?
the only thing Iv tested is microbiome with daye & it showed depleted lactobacillus? Less than 1%.
hubby also has a son from previous relationship. So I’m convinced the problem is me. We really want to throw everything at this round as it will be our last.
if you got this far thank you 🤗

Hey @hopingforbabynumber2 sorry for all you've been through, that's a lot!

I know microbiome is a fairly new area of research in fertility, but increasingly I think it is seen as important in implantation. I'm no expert, but my penny's worth would be to try and improve your lactobacillus. I had a session with a nutritionist to go through my microbiome testing results and get a tailored plan in place and I think it helped.

Other than that, have you, or would you consider pgta testing embryos so at least you know if what you're putting back has a good shot?

Have you ever had a hysteroscopy or saline ultrasound scan to check out the uterine environment? Scarring from previous birth or medical management of miscarriages could make it hard to achieve implantation- this is what happened to me, I had adhesions and scarring after a surgical TFMR and needed to get this sorted before I was able to have a successful embryo transfer

In terms of male supplements, ive heard good things about impryl and my husband took proxeed on advice from a sperm specialist, his analysis was normal, we also did a dna fragmentation test which was also fine so we didn't delve too much further into male testing

@Orangewillow thank you for your reply.
yes I’m doing probiotics & suppositories
for the lactobacillus.

i haven’t pga tested- my doctor said we don’t need to yet? although I’m not against it.

i haven’t had a hysteroscopy or the saline scans but will ask for them & a repeat of all bloods.

Will look into those male supplements, thank you so much 🤗

@hopingforbabynumber2 feel your pain I could have wrote this exact thing, just had my 6th transfer fail, all 5aa and 6aa transfers 4 early miscarriages and 2 failed implantation, under the recurring miscarriage team as well as my clinic and no one has answers, they literally tell me it's just luck, so sad it's just luck when it's so invasive and costs so much.
My protocols have included everything, steroids, blood thinners, antibiotics but still nothing, I'm going back in November for another try but financially we just can't keep going.
Sorry no positive help info, just thought I'd let you know you're not alone in this

hopingforbabynumber2 · 13/10/2025 08:30

@camelinastorm thank you, it’s awful isn’t it.
My doctors say the same- they don’t know why it’s not working.
other than loose more weight (in process!)
Such a rough ride. Good luck in November 🤞🏻

I would start with having tests done and scans on the uterine lining also testing receptivity.. before I did a FET for my now 21 month old daughter I had fluid surrounding my c section scar due to a tfmr and giving birth at 16 weeks and it was thought that not everything came away and they called it a pocket of fluid and this could have caused implantation failure due to the uterus not being healthy so I had to sort that out first and it was as simple as taking a certain antibiotic and getting rescanned and I had a successful transfer 2 months later. Also having your embryos tested could save you a lot of heart ache of going through failed transfers. My husband has a low sperm count with low quality sperm so we need icsi and honestly he took an over the counter male fertility supplement for 3 months during our current ivf journey and we went from 0 fertilisation rate from our first round to having 2 decent quality embryos by day 5 on our second round. We both tried supplements so cant say for sure if they helped or if it was just the luck of the draw due to our ages but I like to think they helped.

Hey! Just thought I would add our experience here if helpful. We very luckily conceived our first naturally without any challenge, however TTC #2 has proved much trickier, after a year TTC naturally we turned to IVF knowing my AMH was low (3.8), over 3 rounds we banked 4 embryos, however have subsequently had 3 failed transfers (Not tested). We ran full immune tests on me and a clear hycosy with nothing obvious prior to our 3rd transfer which unfortunately failed. We then decided to move clinics for a number of reasons, and the first thing they asked us to do was for my Husband to do a DNA Frag test (His sperm parameters have always been fine). It came back as very high (he has just been to see Jonathan Ramsey today and its likely been like that for a while due to a number of case of severe tonsilitis last year which included 3 hospitalisations and then two bouts of Flu/Covid this year). We will hopefully do Zymot and ICSI for our next round at our new clinic, but the whole point of this message is please dont assume everything is 'fine' with your partner. I think so much of fertility assumes its a 'womens issue'. Wishing you all the best! X

@Miraclemuma03
congratulations!!

Did you have the hysteroscopy then to diagnose you?

my husband & I decided on cytoplan supplements & then also coq10 full strength on top. Im also starting acupuncture. So far we have had good blastocyst rates but they don’t all come out of the freezer very well 🤔
some of the same graded embryos come out perfect & some completely deteriorated. Hoping the coq10 helps!! 👶🏼🤞🏻

@CFForeverhoping thank you for your reply, I agree- it’s always assumed to be us!

we had sperm count done but I’m not sure if fragmentation was tested- will 100% ask the question & get him tested though. 😊
