Vaginal probiotics intrafresh or vagibiom?

Hi ladies,

I hope you're well. I am looking to transfer in a month and my consultant suggested vaginal probiotics as I've been on antibiotics a few times now in the last few months so he thinks my microbiome might not be optimal. I'am taking Optibac oral probiotics anyway. Does anyone have any advice on which ones out of intrafresh or vagibiom pessaries? Did they work for you before a FET? I noticed vagibiom has crispatus and intrafresh doesn't. My clinic has recommended intrafresh but thought I'd do some research too. Thanks

It might be worth taking a Daye diagnostic test first to see if there is a specific issue and what the best recommendation is to get you all set for transfer x

My clinic recommended intrafresh, but a nutritionist I spoke to recommended these instead as they contain Lactobacillus ceispatus which i needed to boost https://naturaldispensary.co.uk/products/Biome_Her_30_s-10005155-1361.html

I took them in the run up to my successful FET and after, alternating with optibac pregnancy

Thanks ladies. @confused2025its our first transfer. My husband has antisperm antibodies so our consultant has just put the infertility issue down to that. We've never had a positive pregnancy test in 2 yrs. So at this point they've advised against other tests. But said there was no harm taking a probiotic beforehand. I had a hysteroscopy yesterday and they did some sort of endometrial scratch. So I've been advised to wait till bleeding stops then do 10 days of intrafresh and then 3 days a week till I start Cyclogest. @Orangewillow@Orangewillow.How long did you take the biome 30 one in total for before transfer? I guessing you also were tested so you knew which one you needed? Thx

I did an invivo microbiome tests after my 1st transfer failed, took a while to get results and showed I had lower levels of the Lactobacillus crispatus, then I spoke to the nutritionist and she gave me various things to do including recommending those probiotics. I took them for about 10 days (with the other stuff she recommended) beofee retesting with Daye which was a bit quick but I was in a hurry to catch my next cycle for a transfer and that test came back fine, and I continued taking them - they're fine to take pregnant, whereas the pessaries say not to, so I stopped them in the run up to transfer

Personally I would avoid intrafresh. They no longer do ‘intrafresh plus’ only intrafresh and it has ingredients in there that someone on MN told me wasn’t safe in pregnancy and it actually says on the box not to use if pregnant or pregnancy is planned. The intrafresh plus ones used to be fine but they don’t do them anymore.

Thank you. A part of me thinks maybe I ought to just take the Optibac ones and not bother with a pessary since I've not had any tests done.

Hi my clinic recommended intracare so I am assuming they think they're safe? I am with crgh so I'd hope they would know? Have you used vagibiom?
