NK Cell Testing

hi, I am just wondering if anyone has ever had the nk cell testing done and the result to be that their levels aren’t elevated?

It is something I am thinking of testing for but my current consultant and almost all clinics near me don’t think there’s much evidence behind it. During my research I have realised I haven’t heard anyone saying they have had the test done and all come back ok (I am aware it’s because these people probably aren’t talking about it as much) so just wondering if anyone has had this situation or if they are just telling everyone their levels are elevated!

I've had my nk cells tested and they have come back in the normal range x

Hi I had mine tested after several miscarriages and was convinced i had elevated nk cells and I would need prednisolone but my levels came back within range. I was desperate at that point and still wanted the treatment for it but I actually used a protocol with sitagliptin instead recommended by Professor Brosens and Professor Quenby following a uterine biopsy which resulted in my rainbow baby after many losses

@Cesas thanks for your reply! Can I ask where you had your test done please?

@Hopeafterrecurrentmiscarriage congratulations on your success!! Did you conceive naturally with the new treatment or was it through ivf? Did you have the biopsy done at the Warwick clinic? Unfortunately they’re not taking any new patients at the minute :(

Thank you. I convinced naturally and I was told IVF wouldn’t help me as my issue was recurrent miscarriage so it was more staying pregnant than getting pregnant. I had the biopsy done at Tommy’s Coventry. I was referred by my GP after 3 consecutive losses then trialled their treatment protocol still had no success then had the biopsy done and the sitagliptin treatment. The biopsy was done by Professor Brosens. Is that where you tried?

TSHconfusion · 21/09/2025 20:42

@Hopeafterrecurrentmiscarriage yes that’s where I tried as anyone who has went seems to have had a really good experience! We are slightly different in that we have implantation failure so we are doing ivf and have transferred 4 embryos now but never had a positive test

@TSHconfusion this is where I had mine tested too! Im in a similar position to you, ive had 5 failed embryo transfers and never had a positive. I hope you get some answers x

TSHconfusion · 22/09/2025 20:34

@Cesas sorry to hear that. Were they all from the same collection? Do you still have any more frozen?

@TSHconfusion I have now had 3 collections. I have stage 4 endo and only 1 ovary which currently works after surgery on it. Im not sure if we've spoken in another forum but my womb lining matures too quickly currently not allowing enough time for implantation so waiting on repeat biopsy to decide what to do for my next transfer. I have 3 frozen from my last cycle so hoping one of these work! 🤞🏻

TSHconfusion · 23/09/2025 08:47

@Cesas ah yes I think we did speak on another thread about your endo as I was looking into silent endo as it’s the only other thing I can think of at this stage as everyone just keeps telling us everything looks good and they should implant. I do sort of feel like we’ve had a bad batch of embryos and really hope if we do another collection they will be better.

that makes sense, hopefully there are options to try and slow down the lining? Do you mean it thickens too quickly? That’s good you still have some frozen, fingers crossed one of them will be your baby!
