Any Experience with Create Fertility Mild 3 Cycle

Age 39 soon to be 40
We had 2 single rounds with Create both failed.

Now we are going for 3 cycle Mild ICSI round with PGTA. It's really expensive and I am worried about the outcomes. They are saying , they do PGTA after 3 cycles of egg collections . This means embryos will be frozen and thawed twice.

Any experience with them? I see a very old thread but not a new one.

Thanks!

Hi, I'm doing similar (although natural modified) and I have done egg freezing with them in the past. Just finished 2 of 3 cycles, I have severely diminished ovarian reserve and only expecting to get 1 egg per cycle, but ofc this is all individual so I don't think that side of things affects your experience with egg/retrieval etc.

I've felt their admin side of things is often a bit poor (had an egg collection cancelled but still got a post egg collection survey sent AND a follow up call to check if I was bleeding/having any side effects the day after!). But the Drs/medical staff I've been fairly happy with. You have to keep on top of admin things and chase.

Weekends they have less Drs doing the scans - seems to be nurse practioners etc which isn't ideal, but better than some clinics where these are who do the scans throughout! I think it's great that they do egg collections every day of the week. Again, some clinics do not do Sundays or weekends in general. I had one on Sunday just gone and was the only EC in.

The embryos should not be frozen and thawed twice in the PGT-A. They biopsy them on the day 5 (fresh) and freeze that biopsied part until you've completed the 3 cycles. So the actual embryo is frozen once and then thawed if/when you decide to implant. And the biopsy is frozen once and then thawed when they PGT-A test it -or at least that's how I'm understanding it from them.

If you want to do the PGT-A testing after each cycle, I believe it's a full set up fee of £1250 or whatever it was each time they send them off. So you could do this each cycle and pay each time additionally but I decided against that.

Happy to answer any specific qs?

Thank you for your very helpful response. Yes, admin side of things burst me into tears. We are starting again with them for 3 cycle this month and very close to stimulations but in our treatment consultation nurse asked if I have started estrogen patches and that came as shock and surprise that we weren’t told about it and I am suppose to start on day 21 of the cycle and now i am late for it. So had to consult doctor again and decided to go ahead without estrogen patches.

Nurse said they will thaw the embryos multiple times which didn’t seem right so we spoke to doctor and as he is new with create he said he will confirm with embryology director. Even doctor said , thawing embryos multiple times is not something standard but our patient coordinator and nurse both keep saying they will thaw embryos for PGTA.

Thanks again for your response. Wish you all the best for your last round.

Was your cycles back to back or you had a break between cycles?

Thanks!

They definitely do not thaw (or did not thaw mine) for PGT-A. I've just had my call today (day 5) to give me the grading and confirming that they will now biopsy the embryo (fresh, has not been frozen) and keep that biopsied material frozen, ready to send off for PGT-A and then the rest of the embryo was now frozen. It's only if you have already frozen an embryo without having planned to do PGT-A that it would work as you said if you later decided you wanted to do that. From what I understand, that does not actually affect things too much anyway though! There's a really strong frozen/thaw/biopsy/refreeze/thaw/implant stats generally from what I've read..

I would check with embryoligist only - even the Drs who do the scans/consultations might not know?

I have done cycles back to back in the past but not this time. I had an egg collection in June, wanted to go straight into another one next cycle but I still had the result of EC and some other reason why they recommended to not, so I skipped a round. Then I went back for a round after that and went all the way to EC but they couldnt access my follicle because bladder was in the way (before EC started they always scan me etc). So then I waited the usual 2 weeks for my period and then went straight into the next round. So I guess IVF meds wise I did it back to back but didnt actually have the egg collection, so I guess my body didn't have to have that and recover and then go again a month later.

I'm hoping to do a back to back now though and start on my next cycle..we'll see..

@Rosiestraws Thank you for your very detailed response. It helps a lot . Yes we are waiting to hear back from doctor who said will speak with embryologist and let us know.

Oh sorry to hear that you had to go through much for your EC. I didn’t know that bladder in the way can stop the egg collection and you had to go through whole med round to find this out on egg collection day.

if you don’t mind, Which Create are you with ?

Wish you the best for your next cycle. I hope it all goes smoothly for you.

Thanks!

I'm with St Pauls.

And yes, bladder/bowel can get in the way as your ovaries float and aren't in the same position every scan. However, I have a particularly tricky right ovary so they often have to push hard on my stomach to get it to move to the right place for scans/egg collections and it just wasn't moving that particular time.

I think you'd know already if you had a similar issue. And also, as I have severely disminished ovarian reserve, I'm only growing 1 egg in the ovary so it doesn't get as big as it would if I had a normal reserve and was growing a number of follicles. Obviously when it's bigger, it's easier to move and to access so I guess most women don't have that issue.

Thanks - good luck to you too.

Hoping for some guidance as I am also currently having treatment with Create’s Leeds clinic.
We’ve just had our first cycle of natural modified IVF with ICSI and fertilisation failed. I’m having doubts about continuing with the clinic due to multiple poor communications with the admin coordinators and appointment bookings. We were told about the failure on 26th November but our next discussion with the consultant has been booked for 18th December. This seems a long time to wait to discuss what happened. My husband emailed asking if we could bring this telephone discussion forward, but they’ve not responded. I really am loosing faith with them.
