Did progesterone not prevent your period from coming?

Out of curiosity, did progesterone not prevent anyone’s period from coming? I understand it’s supposed to but I’ve just had usual systems of my period starting during this 2 week wait (low mood, a particular vaginal feeling) and without the meds I would usually be due to bleed in the next day or two. My official test date is not till early next week but I’m really struggling not to test ahead of time - so if my last FET is a failure 😢, it would almost be easier if my period did come…

Progesterone pessary twice a day didn’t stop my periods. I think the PIO shots may but not sure as I never used them. Good luck OP.

Thanks very much for the help @Ivf4203 ❤️ . I am on a lubion 25mg shot this time around for the first time plus 3x400 mg cyclogest a day, so more than you were and I guess in theory so much that a period might be unlikely.

But I feel all over the place with the side effects of the meds this time (as I’m on a high dose of Progynova too), plus it’s definitely harder emotionally knowing it’s my last chance. Not sure I’m going to be able to hold off on testing if my period doesn’t start like it feels like it’s going to 😢

I was on 2x cyclogest pessaries a day and my period didn’t come until I stopped taking them. I don’t want to give you false hope but when I had my first transfer I ‘felt pregnant’ and wasn’t. But the second, I felt my period coming. Lower back ache, cramping, diarrhea, body aches, tiredness… the norm. And was waiting for the beta test because I refused to waste more money on a test to kick me
whilst I was down, and I was pregnant! Don’t count yourself out before times up xx

@Kaybee1989 Thank you for your story (and the hope).

My period was due yesterday and hasn’t started yet. I’m still cramping which is miserable but I guess could just as easily be the high progesterone dose. I’ve changed my mind and decided not to test until test day, as if it’s negative I know I’ll be so gutted and I want to hold onto the hope if I can.

Good luck OP. FWIW, my successful transfer didn’t feel any different to all my other cycles including the one with a failed transfer. I ln fact, I was 99% sure my period was coming, and even had spotting which was a tell tale sign of my period is about to drop. As PP said, don’t count yourself out until test day.

Thanks, very kind @Ivf4203 . A part of me just wants it over and done with as I understand statistically it’s much more likely to be a failure, and I know I’ve had my luck already to get DS after all the previous failures. However it’s really hard to let go of hope as I’d love him to have a sibling so badly- but I must admit I don’t remember getting all this cramping with DS, which makes me wonder if it’s just how I’m reacting to the meds this time rather than implanting 😢(or even my period coming).

I hoped I’d be more accepting of potential failure since I’ve only got this one shot - as in “It’s not meant to be” or “At least you can tell him you tried” (if he asks for a sibling when older) but it’s turning out to be much harder emotionally than I thought!
