Can someone help me with basic understanding of follicle count.

The nurse was quite dry and didn't really speak to me.
I had my baseline scan today , however I haven't yet had a bleed . I stopped the contraceptive pill 4 days ago and still haven't bled. The nurse said my lining is very thin and they aren't expecting a bleed.
What I'm wondering is. On my scan I had a follicle count of 10 follicles 8 follicles on my right and 2 on my left. My left ovary didnt respond at all during last ivf cycles but I had Alot more follicles. I've done 2 collections and had numerous scans and my count over past few years hadn't really changed ( pcos) amh 38. Its always been around 15 follicles in that one ovary . Upon reading online I'm now reading the pill can reduce your afc temporarily and is usually not recommended for women who don't respond well. Although I have high amh I am not a good responder. Of the 17 follicles I had in my ovaries last cycle I only 5 grew and only 2 mature. They won't increase my meds. I'm feeling really deflated now knowing I only have 8 follicles in one ovary ( keeping in mind my left doesn't respond to stims) something to do with position and suspected blood flow.
My question is, do you think its even worth doing the cycle?
I never used the pill on my first cycle 2 years ago and had 12 follicles grow ( think I had 16 follicles count) and got my child from that round. I'm contemplating switching clinic.
Does the count of 9 mean that is the maximum amount of follicles that can come from this round ? Or can more grow? I know they are released in waves.
Can anyone give me better information? My clinic aren't really helpful
