Looking to try more natural ones as after cleaning our house smells soooooo chemically and this cannot be good - for general health let alone fertility and especially after embryo transfer etc (I get paranoid then!). Does anyone have any recommendations please? Ideally premixed ones you can buy?

I too worry about this and don’t like it when I spray something and feel like I breathe in the spray particles in the air! I don’t know how natural it is classed as but I use the Method range which I think is better. Vinegar is also good for things like bathroom taps, towel rails, shower screens etc.

I went all in on this and tried to remove household cleaning products and cosmetics/skincare. I bought Purdy & Fig and it’s good

For me the only thing im concerned about while pregnant or in my 2ww is I will not clean with bleach or bathroom products so my husband uses these chemicals and airs out the bathroom or house after using them and I wont clean an oven, hubby also takes this over. But I am personally not concerned with floor cleaners or bench top cleaners. Usually for those surfaces we use a detol cleaners and not bleach cleaners or strong smelling cleansers. If your concerned, lemon and vinegar in water are good cleaners and natural. Also bi carb soda with vinegar or lemon. They are pretty easy to make up in a bucket for floors or in spray bottles for surfaces.

When ttc i used vinegar or sodium bicarbonate cleaner (you can buy pre made sprays I just got mine from Sains). If I had to use bleach i used gloves and mask and open windows to air. Since I got pregnant, we got a cleaner/my husband will do all top up cleaning requiring bleach!

I would recommend MadeKind - their formulas are plant based with no toxic chemicals. They work and look stylish.

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll definitely look into it. I like the idea of plant-based cleaners that actually work.

My understanding is that the most important thing to avoid is artificial fragrances. Ive tried to cut that out of things.

I have not tried any of the independent brands you can’t get in the supermarket such as Purdy and Figg and things like that because they look expensive, but I’m using cheap alternatives I can buy in major supermarkets like white vinegar spray for surface cleaner, ecover “zero” dishwasher tablets, Waitrose sensitive hand wash, and I really like a brand called Surcare which does washing up liquid, laundry tablets and softener with no fragrance.

According to the book “it starts with the egg” we should avoid benzalkonium chloride which is in detoll spray.
