How many pgta normal (euploid) embryos did you get per cycle?

Hi ladies,

Just as the title says really. I am 37 amh 30.1 no issues. dh 42 ttc for 1.5hrs not a hint of a bfp. Found out we have mfi antisperm antibodies. Tried 2 iuis no luck. Now moving onto split ivf icsi in july. Our consultant has suggested we pgta test. We are looking at access as you get 2 cycles but you can't bank embryos as it just occurred to me if we were lucky to even get one euploid in our first cycle assuming it'd implant we'd have none left for a sibling.

If you pgta tested how many euploids did you get per cycle? And was it icsi or ivf?

Thanks

@Needamiracle12 no I didn’t transfer that cycle in fact it was a good few months until we transferred because life got in the way. Yeh 6 weeks is awful I think they got sent out to some lab in Europe. At least in uk you will get the results a bit quicker as far as I am aware.

I guess it kind of worked out in a way for you then. If we're lucky to get a euploid we might not transfer straight away. Depends how I am feeling physically and mentally so might wait 2 months post ec. Just hoping and praying stims/ec goes well for me and I am not traumatised.

@Needamiracle12 if you have a risk of ohss you could potentially get quite a lot of eggs, you sound v similar to me as I'm sure my AMH was 30.something as well. I got 38 eggs but only 8 fertilised, a lot were immature. There are big drop off rates along the process so starting out with a lot of eggs is a good thing x

I second this
The drops can be big

I have pcos
And was at high risk of ohss

I went from 18 to 6

( but then kept all 6 through embryo watching week)

Yeh its quite alarming the drop of rates! They're putting my on a lower dose than normal so hopefully that might mean better quality eggs. I read that milder doses yield less eggs but better quality. I won't know till we go through it which is in exactly one month arghhh. Thx for your tips they're much appreciated x

Yikes! I hate this journey there's way too many unknowns

Yep

And then we did pgta

So out of those 6
All of which were apparently top quality

4 were abnormal ( my age / pcos )

1 was pgta normal - euploid

And 1 was low level mosaic

Have you transferred yet? If not honestly wishing you all the best x Tbh I'll be over the moon if we even get 1 euploid so long as it results in a child.

Frozen embryo transfer should be this month

If it does not stick - we will keep low level mosaic frozen
And do another egg collection

Best of luck I hope it sticks for you. We're thinking the same if we get a low grade embryo we'll bank it

Of the rounds I did with PGTA testing:

Round 1 - 1 euploid, 1 abnormal. The good one is now a 1 year old (from a 3BC).
Round 2 - 1 abnormal, no euploid
Round 3 (my last round, just before I turned 40) - 5 euploid, 1 abnormal, 1 no result.

Thanks for sharing. Wow your round 3 was amazing! Did you change anything for it in your protocol or diet? X

Sorry for the delay in replying. I took quite a break before my final round to clear my head, got slightly fitter and cleaner (no Pepsi max etc). But very honestly the main reason will be that we changed sperm donor. So I realise that is probably not very helpful information.

Hey that's ok I hope you're feeling better emotionally. Breaks are good. It's still good to know and I am so glad you had a positive outcome. Wishing you all the best xx

IVF, me (just) 40; him 55. 10 eggs, 8 mature, 7 fertilised, 4 embryos, no euploid. Luck of the draw.

I am so sorry. Is there anything you will change for your next cycle? X

I did that cycle with a gay male friend, who's 55; he didn't want to continue, and I'll do the next cycle with a sperm donor. The research is still pretty new/sparse (medical misogyny!), but there is some indication that DNA fragmentation increases with age and toxin exposure (which was a fairly significant possibility with him, because of the nature of his work). And that's thought to increase rates of aneuploidy, though I'm not sure TBH it has much to do with monosomy, which was the kind all mine had. Anyway, I figure having a younger donor can only help.

Other than that I'm just trying to eat healthily and take my vitamins, which is what I did before.

Yeh I've read a lot about dna frag causing issue too. I reckon you should hopefully get a much better outcome with a younger donor. I am currently trying to eat low carb as I've read that can help too. But I've no idea if we're even going to start in July now as we are with crgh and they've recently changed their internal system. It's a nightmare they're not answering or returning calls so not exactly safe. I mean how would we even book a baseline scan! Anyway all the best ❤️ xx

Oh, how annoying! I find it really stressful how casual clinics can be about communication. I hope things move forward for you soon!

Hello there. We have recently found out we’ve got mfi with really high antisperm antibodies and most likely will need to do Ivf. How did it go for you?
