Cyclogest coming out

Hi everyone, sorry if this is TMI- I have been taking Estrodiol for ten days and am now taking cyclogest too. They told me to take it vaginally - which I did, I lay down for 30mins afterwards but needed the loo afterwards. When I got up LOADS was in the toilet (a lot) the estrodiol makes me very ‘slimey’ down there so I’m wondering if the cyclogest has come out and if I need to do it again. The nurses told me to expect some fallout but this was a lot,

I’m taking rectally which was advised by my dr but also seemed to be the advise generally online. You can do either, and there’s a slight difference in effect (I think I read one peaks sooner and one stays higher for a longer period) but not significantly. Rectally does feel weird to do but once it’s in there is no mess at all. I’ve done other vaginal pessaries and couldn’t bear the wet feeling/mess in pants, and worried too much was being lost. That said, as they’re recommended for us in both places they must think enough is absorbed vaginally despite leakage x

You could Google the time to absorb. I read between 15-30 mins for rectally although that if you go to the loo within one hour you need to repeat the dose.. so I just try and avoid going to the loo for an hour after 🙈 it becomes quite the morning routine!!

I asked the hospital if it was better to do it up the back but they said to do it vaginally (except for on the day of transfer) they said the front has a lot more discharge but this was loads and I’m so worried now

I wouldn't worry too much as you’ll still have absorbed a good amount, they wouldn’t tell you to take it this say otherwise. My two successful cycles I did one where it was just vaginally (never lay down after) and the other I alternated. I did prefer at the back though as less mess (TMI)

You could try pessary applicators? Can get them off amazon, but check with your clinic first, I used them on my first cycle and made things much easier!

hi OP, it’s very normal (I did 3 FETs with cyclogest). I was told not to go to the toilet for 30 minutes after insertion. What is coming out are just the fatty oils that are the delivery method for the oestrogen, the oestrogen itself has already been absorbed. If what comes out is in the shape of the pessary then that might suggest it hasn’t filly broken down to be absorbed, but if all you’re getting out is just lots of goo then I really wouldn’t worry.

It is normal. The body absorbs it even if it does come out; make sure you push it in deep to begin with. Might be worth asking for a progesterone test a few days before your FET to check levels are sufficient. There are also lubion injections as an alternative.

Thanks so much for your message. I asked about popping it in the back but they told me not to and to only do it on the day of the transfer. It’s just so gross in the front as no matter how long I lie down for, it comes rolling out 🤢 the hospital said to expect it, but it’s a lot more than I expected

Thank you so much- it’s not the pessary but it’s about a teaspoon of thick white goo 🤢 I could only lie down for 24 mins this evening and freaked out as I felt it gush out when I walked down the stairs (sorry for TMI) dunno why they have said not to pop it in the ‘letterbox’ but after everything, I’m just going to do as I’m told. Freaking out about my progesterone blood test on Tuesday- I’m so scared xx

Iv only got to do it for 5 days (and most are over the weekend) I have a blood test on Tuesday and they said that low levels may mean we need injections but I’m dreading that as Iv had enough of injections x

I can get them up really far and I think it’s enough, but there is just lots of goo. They told me to use my hand and told me to avoid applicators- just nervous x
