Low level mosaic embryo

Hi all

Our egg collection got us blastocysts that were pgta tested

Additionally to a pgta normal ,

We got a low level mosaic..

Would love to hear from anyone who has previously transferred a low level mosaic...

( we will transfer the pgta normal first , but if that doesnt stick - we may keep the low level mosaic frozen for now and do another egg collection or - may consider a genetic counselling session & then may consider transferring the mosaic )

Your genetic counsellor will be able to advise. Usually they're fine to transfer so long as they don't have a % of cells with missing or additional chromosomes that would result in a live child with a condition if it didn't self correct.

So the outcome would either be non-implantation/ miscarriage or a healthy child that had successfully corrected.

Congrats on your euploid.

Thank you

We have horrible miscarriage history

So for now , if euploid doesnt stick..

We will likely do another egg coll

Likely guna leave the low mosaic frozen for now.

Currently with no living children - miscarriage history and stuff = raw etc

The low mosaic is missing an x chromosone

That can result in Turner syndrome so follow your clinic's advice on the chances of correction, should you decide to consider transfer.

@worldwidetravel2017 that's amazing that your friend has conceived. I'd understood infertility to be a Turner issue. It's a strange coincidence that her child likely has it too as it isn't hereditary.

Edited

She had 5 failed ivf

But then i encouraged her to go back to basics

She sorted her feretin and got diagnosed as celiac
.then after months as gluten free - they conceived

She and her other half each carry conditions
.she has some different shaping re her face a bit and deaf in one ear / hearing aid etc

We had a low mosaic that resulted in a lovely baby. They thoroughly tested amniotic fluid through amniocentesis at week 20 to make sure there’s no disease. Of course you can’t test for everything and you will forever worry even after birth. But so far he is well.

Also our pgta tested normal one didn’t stick. There are recent studies that say that all embryos are mosaic even the ones that test normal and pgta is not reliable. Read some posts on this topic here:

Always happy to hear mosaic stories

Our natural miscarriage was 2023
And i struggle with how ive read about low mosaic having higher miscarriage chance compared to say top quality embryo thats pgta normal etc .

Always happy and grateful to hear about mosaics
