frozen egg transfer dilemma - need opinions!!

I am due to undergo my first frozen egg transfer after a failed fresh transfer. I only have the one embryo to try.

My dilemma is I just had my first scan for the FET and it’s showing that I’m likely to ovulate TWO eggs this weekend. They are pretty much neck and neck. The nurse joked if I was trying naturally that’s how twins are made. She then warned that I MUST use contraception as if not it could potentially result in triplets if I go ahead with the transfer. So it got me thinking maybe hubby and I could try naturally and have more of a chance of conceiving since there will be two eggs. I would then obviously have to delay my transfer which I don’t think would be a problem as we have went private.

Also, for context I am 38 but have no known issues and have conceived naturally before (so potentially no issues on my side unless my eggs are just a bit old) but hubby has shown low sperm count but not non existent. We have been trying for a bout 2 years with no luck but I will add hubby also has low sex drive so I think maybe we’ve not had enough sex. He has promised he would give it his best go to try naturally this time if I want to.

So do you think we would have more of a chance in conceiving with two eggs being released and wouldn’t give it a go and postpone the FET for another month?

Thanks for taking the time to read!

Hey @Lola19 I suppose if you won't lose much by postponing this FET money wise and you're happy to wait another cycle potentially to start again, then why not give it a shot!

If your clinic will easily accommodate it, yes I would try naturally this month and postpone the FET

I would do the transfer as you would have a higher success rate with it as your egg is already fertilised. You have been trying 2 yrs and your hubby has low sperm so you could potentially miss out this cycle all together and will have to start over.

If it were me I'd try naturally and postpone the transfer. I've had pregnancies between cycles despite trying and failing for 3.5 years (first one didnt stick, second one is v v early) but I'd definitely take that chance. Your eggs will get older but your embryo won't. Good luck either way!
