IVF Protocols change

Hi everyone, I am after some advice. Now bare with me this may be a long post.

Since 2019 we have had five rounds of IVF. The first four rounds were at a clinic in Nottingham and after two miscarriages and two failed rounds we decided to move to another clinic, get out remaining embryos tested and try again. This fifth round had extras added to help with reducing miscarriage and we were successful in 2022 and had our amazing son.

We would like to try for a sibling for him now so have gone back to the clinic, as it's been over six months since we were last there I have had to have a scan and a follow up consultation. As you will know with IVF you are scanned a lot and on may occasions I have been told I have a cyst on my ovary, it's usually bleeding but told it will go away. Some nurses have called them endometrias.....I have asked if that means endometriosis and have been told no on many occasions.
Anyway this scan showed another cyst that the nurse called an endometria. When I have had my follow up consultation the consultant said she was going to change me from a short to a long protocol because I have endometriosis?? I said I've asked about this many times and been told I haven't I just occasionally get cycts.

My concern is, the fifth round was the only one we brought home our baby soni wanted to do everything exactly the same again. I know there's no guarantees just because it's the same but it feels safer. Would anyone else be concerned about going from a short to a long protocol? Am I worrying unnecessarily? Is long better, belt and braces type of thing.

The consultant said if I said to her I want to do short she will of course do short but I'm torn. Please help! Any advice would be great fully received. Xxxx

I guess the clinic are trying to work with what your body is telling them. It's been 3yrs since your last cycle so your body has probably gone through so many changes and now your older. I would discuss your options with the clinic further but essentially they are only doing what they think will work for you.
