Retry Clomid or try Letrozole?

We have been trying to conceive for over 2 years. All tests have come back fine apart from my hubby’s semen analysis which showed a morphology of 3% but everything else was within normal ranges.

Despite normal ovulation, my specialist (gynaecologist - we don’t have fertility specialists as such where I am) suggested I try Clomid. I know there is mixed reviews/results on this where this is normal ovulation.

I tried 50mg for 2 months and I forgot to get my 3rd dose so have fallen off the radar. I don’t know if it worth asking to try Clomid again (my last dose was Dec/Jan cycle) or if I ask to try Letrozole.

Anyone had similar?

I've not tried either but also all tests show normal ovulation for me and it isn't something the NHS would consider for me as all signs point to ovulating and they are worried about hyper ovulation.

Privately, I'm considering a monitored cycle in a few months which is letrozone but being monitored to check follicle growth to make sure hyper ovulation doesn't happen.

I have heard of people being given clomid despite normal tests (and it worked for a friend). Also not sure about clomid vs letrozole but get the impression clomid is being replaced with letrozole more because of fewer side effects - but I can't remember where I read this / which podcast I heard it on.
