Can someone who has been through IVF given me an idea of how much IVF injections cost? I'd like to work out a rough budget.

Mine are £1600. I do short protocol high stimulation. Long protocol may cost more. However if you don't require high stimulation the cost could be lower.

My meds in total including tablets, injections and pessaries was about €1000. That was for the estrogen pills, injections including 2 trigger shots, and progesterone pessaries until week 14 of pregnancy.

It will vary greatly based on your treatment. Mine were £1,800.

For me it's been about £5,500 so far but I was always on a high dose of medication.
2 egg collection cycles at around £2,000 each
Now doing a medicated FET and so far have paid £1,400 for meds but this will only last me until 2 weeks after transfer. I estimated I'll have to pay at least another £2,000 more till 10 weeks.

Hi OP, someone asked a while ago about costs at the clinic I’ve used, CRGH, so I’ve copied and pasted my answer below:

here are some ballpark costs, obviously this massively depends on exact protocol and treatment.

IVF cycle (inc. scans, nurse appts, egg collection, embryology & transfer): £3,995
ICSI: £1,395
Blood monitoring during cycle (as many as needed): £595
Annual storage for any spare embryos: £375

Drugs obviously depend on your protocol and CRGH partner with a delivery at home pharmacy company to send you your meds. CRGH also stock some themselves so you can ‘top up’ if you need to. So I have previously bought enough to get to say a day 14 collection and then just topped up via CRGH if needed.

E.g. protocol costs example drugs below:
Norethisterone for 2 weeks before: £20
Cetrotide from day 7: £30 per day
Meriofert from day 3: £29 for 75iu (range £29-£87 per day)
Fostimon from day 3: £29 for 75iu (range £29-£87 per day)
Gonasai trigger: x2 5,000iu £100 (£50 each)

If moving to transfer:
Cyclogest pessaries from collection day: x2 per day until weened off at around 8-12 weeks £36 for x15

Lubion from collection onwards (maybe depends on protocol, 0-2 per day): £126 for 7 injections
Prognova tablets: 0-5 per day until weened off x84 £28
Clexane: daily from transfer until weened off x10 £60

Thanks very much for the replies. I've been told my initial prescription would be:-

Menopur/merional/meriofert 150 iu and solvent (20 packs) and 75 iu and solvent (10 packs)
OR
Gonal-f 900 iu (4 packs)
AND
Cetrotide/fyrsmedel 0.25mg (5 injections)

I don't think the trigger shots are included in that prescription. Does that look pretty typical? I don't have anything to compare it to as we've only tried letrozole previously.

If you are sourcing your own IVF meds with a private prescription then I've always heard Asda are the cheapest place and that's been where I've always got mine from.

I've not got all the info from any recent purchases but in my emails from 2021/2022 one Gonal-F 300unit pen was £112.80, a 900unit pen was £338.40 if that helps at all

Rosiestraws · 11/03/2025 16:47

Fyramendel was around £20 each

Whowhatwhere21 · 12/03/2025 10:58

Hi OP I've had.....
Menopur 1200iu, comes in packs of 18 x2 boxes.
Fyremadel x6
Cyclogest pessaries x45
And ovitrelle trigger shot
That came to just over £1200
