Hi all, was just searching for some advice as me (age 22) and my partner (age 24) have been TTC since December 2023 and we've had absolutely no luck at all, we've read somewhere that it's recommended that people our age see a Dr after a year of no success, obviously we want to do this but at the same time we're extremely nervous and have no idea where to start, if anybody has any advice or wants to share they're experience especially with the NHS, we would be entirely grateful, TIA🤍

Hey lovely. You should phone your GP and ask for an appointment and say you want to discuss your fertility as you and your partner have been ttc for over a year with no luck. They should refer you for blood tests on day 3-5 and day 21 of your cycle, and your partner should give a sperm sample. They may also book a pelvic ultrasound for you to check everything is OK inside your uterus and with your ovaries. If they find any issues, they can probably refer you for ivf on the nhs now, but if not, then they will probably encourage you to carry on trying for another year, as you have to have been ttc for 2 years usually to be referred. Alternatively, you could find your nearest private clinics ans see when they have open days and go along for some advice and a free initial consultation.

Good luck with everything.
