Take each day as it comes. Expect the unexpected. Injections aren’t that bad. Sedation is delightful! Be prepared to laugh, cry, be angry and all emotions in between xx

@worldwidetravel2017 I second that the injections aren't that bad! I was worried about this as I hate needles and it was fine, first one felt weird, but after that I got used to it. The emotional side is tough, in my my 1st cycle I would sometimes go for a scan and bloods then to the office, which if I'd had less good news was just too much. In my 2nd cycle I worked from home more and took the day off after egg collection when I'd be getting the call about how many had fertilised. If you can work from home more, I found that helpful, I also told people at work what was going on so they understood me being absent or potentially upset etc - a very personal choice but not having to hide it removed a layer of complication for me! Good luck

I agree that injections are not as bad as you think. Also if you have down regulation on your long protocol dont panic over stories about it making you feel rubbish, just remember it's only temporary and you should feel better once the stims start. Good luck on your journey and I'd suggest joining a thread for the month your ivf cycle starts as it will be a great source of comfort and information.

I did long protocol and found it to be fine. I had a nose spray for down regulation which gave me no side effects and my stims were also fine. I was quite scared on the day for EC but as the others have said, sedation was actually really nice. The hard part for us wasn't the treatment at all, but waiting to hear how the eggs got on with fertilization and how many made it to blastocyst etc, then the 2 week wait for test day.

Good luck!

@worldwidetravel2017 hey , I've seen you on here on my past groups so wanted to wish you the best of luck 🤞
My advice .. just relax and try and trust the process . Its hard to know what to expect, there are so many twists and turns when it comes to ivf and were all individuals and have different experiences.
I found the physical side of things fine but it took a toll on my mental health. Not the drugs and ivf process as such but more the anxiety of not knowing how this will fair out but you've got this.
Just remember your a fighter and everything you've gone through to get to this moment.

I'm going to be starting ivf again in a few months aswell so I've got it all to look forward to again
