Any success stories after scarring/ashermans?

It's looking like my 2nd attempt at a FET is going to be cancelled for thin lining, despite being on a sh*tload of oestrogen for about 3 weeks now.

I had moderate adhesions removed through 2 hysteroscopies last summer (caused by a surgical TFMR in 2023), a hycosy after that gave me the all clear and then I've been doing IVF since to bank embryos. Now this 2nd FET attempt isn't going well, they think I might still have a bit of scarring, seen from another recent hycosy, and might need another hysteroscopy to resolve.

I'm at my whits end with it all, just feels like nothing I do makes the situation better and I'm so worried that I'm just not going to be able to get my lining to the right point. It's just problem after problem.

My lining was 6.4 last week then down to 5.6 again today. One final scan next week and they've said they'd go ahead if it was under 7 but it needs to be higher than it was today.

Any success stories/experiences/people who are going through the same and want to have a rant with me would be very welcome!

No experience but my clinic prescribed viagara for thin lining. I don’t know if that deals with scarring but I know they have success with thin lining. I’m sorry you’re going through this and hope your lining perks up. Best wishes. The journey is so hard. Be kind to yourself.

Couldnt read and run. I’m many years after this . Yes I had a daughter :)

I saw an ashmerman specialist mr lower . My lining never fully recovered , it always on the thinner side. 6ish. But it got the triple strie back (not all of it but mainly) which is more important. So that’s what you need for a receptive lining. I recommend you see someone to give u the all clear before ur next cycle who is a specialist in ashermans. I got mine after multiple miscarriages needing surgery and then a C-section for my first which well and truly broke my uterus after all the surgery it had had.

I used viagra aspirin and vaginal oestrogen and oral to give it a hand. I was prob on a borderline dangerous dose of oestrogen looking back! I also took high dose vitamin e.

wish u all the best. Stay strong it’s a hard time x

Thank you @MulletMilltet @Smartmove for your replies!

I've been doing the vitamin e and all the oestrogen, currently 100mg patches every 2 days, 10mg progynova and vagifem x2 a day... and l-argenine, beetroot juice, walking, yoga, raspberry leaf tea.. anything that might help

Lining made it to 6.8 and triple layer so am going ahead with FET next week and hoping for the best! Clinic have said if it doesn't work then viagra or low dose stims could be an option next time, or revisiting hysteroscopy for scar tissue but they seem less concerned by that now... it's all been a lot more positive than I expected a week ago and just hoping I have a sticky one!

Delighted to hear. Sounds positive. @Orangewillow This is your take home baby. Keep us posted. Xxx

Just an update from me, sadly the FET didn't work. I had another hysteroscopy in March, and a scan last week showed my lining was pretty thin despite being on 3 x progynova a day and mid cycle. So im feeling pretty despondent about it! I'm having yet another saline scan next week so check if there's anything untoward happening after the hysteroscopy and then who knows! So sick of all this!

Sorry to hear @Orangewillow - the road is so hard. Push the clinic to understand what the plan is. If you’re not satisfied get a consult with a different clinic like maybe Evewell, CRGH or ARGC. Find out what they might do. Just an idea. You just gotta keep truckin’. We’re all rooting for you.Sending you all good thoughts.

Orangewillow · 20/04/2025 17:59

Thank you @MulletMilltet it really is! My consultant says he's going to sit down with the surgeon who did my hysteroscopy and the doctor who will do the saline scan, and they're going to come up with a plan before I speak to him again in a week or two. So I feel like they're being thorough and helpful, just feeling despondent that it's proving tricky to get my lining to play ball and I wonder if it's going to be a long road ahead still!

Really appreciate the support, thank you!

You have euploid embryos. Statistics are on your side. IVF is an exercise in “hurry-up, wait”. In a world where we “make” things happen it’s the ultimate surrender. Nothing but solidarity. Keep the faith and keep just take it day by day. Right here with you.
