Hey
Im 38
We are paying 2500 gbp
To pgta test embryos
From our first ivf..

We have miscarriage history

Just wondering - those of u that pgta tested - how was it / was it helpful ?

In theory it should perhaps help reduce miscarriage risk
But then i have pcos
So my miscarriage risk = high
Also my ohss risk = high

Hi @worldwidetravel2017 I have done pgta testing on all embryos from 2 rounds of egg collection. I had a TFMR for a chromosomal abnormality and a chemical since so it was very important for me to know anything we transfer is genetically normal to reduce the risk of miscarriage and another TFMR.

I haven't done transfer yet, but it's giving me some peace of mind that is much needed (for now anyway!)

We did PGTA as we had unexplained infertility & I’d had both a miscarriage and a chemical pregnancy, but negative for recurrent miscarriage tests, which seemed to indicate that our issue may have been something to do with egg or sperm quality. I really needed the additional reassurance & I think it paid off as 4 of the 9 embryos we tested were aneuploid & I am now 21 weeks pregnant following a successful transfer.

Thanks both

And so sorry to hear of your losses

Yea - so far my recurrent miscarriage test results are negative

I think poss issue = egg quality / my age

Im glad we are doing pgta testing

@worldwidetravel2017 thank you

Yeah my feeling was it could give us more confidence in a transfer but also potentially save us time, money and heartache, as while the testing is expensive, so would be several transfers of embryos that didn't have a chance, let alone the additional emotional toll that would take after an already very painful time!

Good luck for your testing xx

I did PGT-A aged 38 with PCOS having had one miscarriage and have no regrets, although overall the IVF was very expensive as I had three rounds. From both my first two rounds only one embryo per round was euploid; the first round it was the lowest graded embryo so I would potentially have had three failed transfers and been considering extra testing before transferring a euploid embryo if I’d not done the PGT-A.

Thanks for sharing your experience
Much appreciated

We have one nhs round and then will do 2 private

We are lucky in that my partners work pay 15k towards fertility - theyll pay the pgta testing and the bulk of 2 rounds with access fertility

Hi @worldwidetravel2017 we did pgta one egg collection in 2023, I got 2 euploids out of 6 blastocysts, one no result and 3 anaeuploid, one of my euploids resulted in my 14 month old boy and I am 28 weeks pregnant with my second one 🙏🏻🤞🏻
