I had my FET yesterday under sedation but was told aftwrwards that they were unable to transfer the embryo. There was 1 doctor and they got the assistance of another to help but he couldn’t either. They said my cervix looked like it had scarring and they could not get the tube through at all because it was too thin. The doctor said he’s never seen anything like this before and will have to check with other doctors. Has anybody else had anything like this or heard anything similar? At the moment I’m just panicking as I’m worried that I’ll never be able to have a transfer

I’ve got scarring on my cervix and they sedate me. They have to have lots of experience. I went straight to a consultant but it looks as if whoever was doing yours wasn’t as qualified. I’ve had previous loop excisions so my cervix is flatter when it should be like the top of a carrot apparently.

Have you had a hysteroscopy? This looks for scarring, they would cut away some of the tissue to try and reduce it.

@AnonS Thanks for your reply. No I’m waiting on an appointment with a specialist to have a look. When I wrote this post I put scarring in my cervix but I meant in my vagina, the doctor said about 2/3rds of the vagina is scarred which prevented them putting the tube through for the embryo. Do you know if they can still cut away some of the scar tissue from inside the vagina? I can’t seem to find anything about it online and it’s starting to stress me out, and my appointment has been put back a few weeks

Sorry, I have no idea. Did they say what would cause that? Sounds awful. Drs can do wonderful things these days. Please let me know how you get on.

@AnonS they said surgery, radiation treatment or trauma. Which I’ve had none of to my knowledge. Thanks I really hope so!
