We had our first ivf egg retrieval in 2020, followed with 3 FETs (two failed ABs in 2021-22) and a successful BB in 2022. As this was done under nhs for free, our embryos were not genetically tested.
We are now left with two BC embryos and one CB (from a retrieval when i was 33yo). We have just had a consultation with our ivf clinic and it was indicated that the embryos are not of high enough quality so the embryologist wouldn't recommend thawing them for testing and refreezing again. I felt strongly there is a good chance they could still be euploid but we of course don't know for sure.
And it has been playing on my mind because my wonderful baby from BB had severe hydronephrosis on one side and had to have kidney surgery at 1 year old. His surgery was successful but one of his kidneys is functioning poorly.
I am scared of going into another transfer as my first pregnancy was full of anxieties due to the kidney issue. But being nearly 39 I am not sure I am ready to go through the new retrieval all over again.
I thought I knew what i was going to do but the consultation really confused me. I thought that the quality of embryo didn't mean that there would be abnormalities but now I am finding myself being really scared of it.
So I would love to hear positive stories from BC embryos ❤️🍀
