London IVF Clinic Recommendations

Hello - happy new year!

Looks like my husband and I need to get serious now about heading down the IVF route but I’m completely baffled by the shear number of clinics out there

I realise every experience is different largely because each case is different but I would really appreciate your recommendations as well as stay from from this clinic as my heads all over the place! I’ve looked at the HFEA website but a lot of the data is old so not a great help

For reference I’m 42 with secondary infertility and lower AMH so anyone in similar situation would be particularly useful

Many thanks in advance!!!

I'm 37 and doing first round with Kings which we managed to get on NHS as my husband has male factor infertility. Before that, we were looking at going privately with London Women's Clinic as there was a site based near us in south london.

So far I have found Kings to be really good, and I think they are one of the leaders in the field in terms of new tech etc. There is a good IVF series on Kings on U with Alex Jones presenting which is worth watching.

LWC was also good, although I only had a few consultations with them. Although you have to go to Harley street for any major procedures, they only do the scans and blood etc locally.

I'd try pick somewhere close to you as there is lots of back and forth, sometimes several scans a week during the initial stages.

Some places do open days, so worth seeing when these are and going along. You can get a bit of a mini consultation and advice.

Good luck.

@OneWaryCat Thank you for your response. I know someone that used Kings also with NHS and really rated it but I have a feeling that the NHS clinics (even if privately funded) don’t do the genetic testing do they? I think that’s something I really need to do at my age especially after two
miscarriages.
Someone else also mentioned LWC but said the admin element was awful. Maybe that doesn’t matter so much though if the care is good. It’s just so much money that I want to find the right clinic

Also at King's. I'm doing x3 rounds with PGTA testing and recommend them.

Much cheaper than almost every other main player (Lister, ARGC etc etc). Service is even better if you do your scans at their Canary Wharf outpost as entirety private so zero wait, ever, though their Denmark Hill site is also really nice. Like being in an art gallery - nothing like a hospital.

Yes I second that - the denmark hill venue feels really nice. It's quite 'fancy'.

@sirensong @OneWaryCat Thanks both I really appreciate that as wasn’t sure they did the testing. Will give them a call in the morning. And so it begins 😬

@MrsMoffett I've done 2 rounds of egg collection with PGTA testing, loads of testing and an attempt at a frozen embryo transfer at the Lister and they've been great. I initially got referred there for immunology concerns, my consultant there specialises in that, and when IVF seemed to be the route for us we decided to stick with them and all the doctors and nurses have been good and very thorough, not the cheapest though! I also looked at Kings and have heard good things from many people, but I had a TFMR there in 2023 and their Fetal Medicine and Fertility Clinics are in the same building and I honestly just didn't want to have to go back there lots! I've also heard great things about The Evewell, their head of embryology is on instagram as Emma the Embryologist and she has lots of really helpful content about what to ask an IVF clinic and what to look out for. Good luck!
