I never told my employer about my treatments.

I just told them I had medical appointments and so, no specific details.

If you need lots of permanents, I would invent an illness or something. Otherwise, they will start getting ready for you getting pregnant and may count you out of opportunities.

I had a lot of support. Initially just by telling my manager what I was going through, he was supportive the ENTIRE 4 years. Within this time I had approached the employee relations team and was part of a group of people responsible for having a fertility policy put in place which gives unlimited paid days off for fertility treatment, and had the insurance enhanced to add in a small amount for fertility tests.

Not all work places offer this, but if you have the drive for it, speak out and try and get something in place. It was great for me to channel of the tough times into making things happen.

Unfortunately, new management came in and heard about the treatment and that I was getting and reacted not quite as supportive.
