TSH mIU/L 0.87 - is that okay?

Fertility clinic results are just back and haven't had the consultation yet.

This comes up as within the 'normal' range, but it seems to be veering towards the low side.

Does anyone have any advice on whether this is a problem or not please?

Thanks

Hi @Hairydairyfair , I'm not a doctor and therefore wary of advising you. But I've had an underactive thyroid for years which is now under control thanks to a medication I'm taking. Looks like your result is just about within the normal range for now, but may have a slightly overactive thyroid. I'd suggest you talk to your GP and see if they recommend taking a daily medication. If they say you don't have take anything yet, then it'd be best to monitor your levels in the future as they might keep going down...doing a blood test every few months and review the results with your GP is a good idea I think!

Hi, just thought I’d drop a quick note here. I had to do a thyroid screen before some IVF treatment, I did it via Randox, I think it was about £50 and they checked TSH, FT4, FT3 and Anti-TPO. The ‘optimal’ TSH range they gave was 0.35 - 5.5 mIU/l.

Hi, I have an under active thyroid and have done IVF several times. From experience they actually prefer the TSH to be on the lower end of the normal range to get pregnant so it should be ok. If you talk to your GP once you are pregnant they will monitor you, advice is to get a blood test every 4-6 weeks as your levels will fluctuate in pregnancy.
