40 and PCOS – clinic recommendations?

Hi all!

Just had a single round of ICSI with NHS, resulting in BFN 2 weeks ago.

Now looking to self fund and hoping to get some recommendations for clinics with expertise in similar clinical profiles.

I had extremely high AMH at baseline (110). ER resulted in 20 mature eggs, 13 fertilised, 1 5-day blast.

The NHS clinic were fairly conservative with stims and triggering early due to the risk of OHSS with high AMH.

Any recommendations much appreciated!!

Did u ever see nhs gynae ?
Have u ever taken metformin and / or myo inostol for pcos ?

worldwidetravel2017 · 14/10/2024 12:42

Hows your BMI?

With pcos you often have deficiencies in
Iron / feretin
B12
Zinc
Vit d

^ have u had all those checked ?

Hi, thank you!

BMI normal, around 20

Have had anemia before, so do sometimes take iron (need to get checked again in case I’m all topped up!)

Take vit D and B vit complex but no zinc. (But do eat a lot of nuts and veg).

I’ll ask for a check up on those.

Thanks! :)

Hi, thanks for replying!

Never taken metformin, do take inositol (which got me ovulating and made my periods a bit more normal)

Have you had glucose etc checked ?

worldwidetravel2017 · 14/10/2024 18:12

Metformin plays a role in making the environment good 4 a pcos pregnancy

No actually! I’m surprised when I think of it that this hasn’t been offered (I understand I’m at greater risk of T2 diabetes)

Thanks! I’ve seen people talking about continuous blood glucose monitors recently – I’m wondering if that’s something you can access via GP. Will ask.

I do try and avoid simple carbs but know everyone reacts differently to different foods.

Thanks, I wasn’t aware of this! Is that via regulation of blood sugar or some other mechanism?
