Kind / mild IVF

I was wondering if anyone can share experiences of kind / mild ivf?

DH and I have been trying for baby no.2 for 11 months without success (no.1 was conceived easily on cycle 2). We have fertility testing and we have some male factor issues (low motility and morphology) and have been told we qualify for kind IVF with ICSI. We are finding the decision really hard to make because on the one hand I’m aware 11months can be ‘normal’ and I’m in one mind to just keep trying naturally, but on the other hand time is not on our side (we are 36 and 43 and mild ivf is only available under 37) and the MF issues make me worry it won’t happen for us naturally so we might as well get on with it.

the dr said we have a good chance of success and it’s just about affordable for us (at £4,000).

I just can’t seem to find much information about it online, all I see are experiences of traditional ivf.

I would love any stories of experiences with it if anyone has any. And any guidance on what made you decide to go for it?

Can you explain a little bit more what you mean by ‘kind/mild’ IVF? Are you meaning a natural cycle without most of the medications? Or something different?

Hey I'm following if thats OK. 😊 We are also late 30s and 40s respectively with MFI and secondary infertility. It would be great to hear of your experiences. I saw an advert on the Tube for Kind IVF but I'm 37. Does that mean I don't qualify? Assuming you're talking about the London women's clinic? I'm really undecided about mild IVF as my AMH last time I checked it was abysmal (2.6 pmo/l). I'm not sure how I feel about the focus on fewer eggs as I don't feel like time is on my side. Is mild IVF the only one they do? Do you know if Kind have an eligibility criteria in terms of AMH?

Just checked and you need to be under 37!

I haven’t done mild IVF myself, but I did listen to an episode about it on the Big Fat Negative podcast, where they had an expert speak about it, in case that’s any help! It’s episode 14 in their first series, although it’s from a few years ago so just bear in mind some stuff might have changed since then. Good luck with it! 🤞🏼

Yes I’ve been going to a branch of the London Women’s clinic. Currently their cut off is 37 although the Dr said that may change. I think they determine what an acceptable AMH level is based on your age. Mine is 7 and she said that was the lower end of good. Apparently the cut off used to be 10 but it’s been reduced to 6 so I qualify

@LuckyFlash did mild and natural modified IVF with Create fertility. Over 3 egg collections with them I got 14 eggs which turned into 8 embryos for freezing. Prior to all this I did a max/high stims IVF cycle and got 2 eggs of which neither fertilised. So naturally I edge more towards the gentler approach when giving my views. I had an AMH of 4.3 pmol at 38 yrs old when I started the cycles with Create. Following 3 FETs and 4 embryos transferred (most recent was a double transfer) I'm in my 2nd trimester of a singleton pregnancy.

Good luck!

I'll be doing a mild ivf cycle in a few weeks I've already had 2 high stims cycles were no fertilization or my 2 embryos died off on Day 4. My new doctor thinks mild ivf should be used because of my low amh, high stims ruined my egg quality.. hopefully can update soon with a positive experience 🙏

Wishing you all the best with this. Can I please ask what your AMH is if you don't mind?

Thanks for sharing. I'm guessing I wouldn't qualify then with my AMH. I think I'm going to test it again at some point just in case as I've heard anecdotally of some people's fluctuating! All the best and I hope it goes well for you 😊

Thank you x
It was 3 but that was tested over a year ago probably much lower now I've refused to retest it 🙃
