Has anyone used access fertility and done one of their packages in conjunction with having pre-implantation genetic testing?

Hi,
Yes - we are doing a 2 cycle package with Access Fertility, with PGT-A. We just pay Access Fertility for the IVF and the clinic for the PGT-A separately. Access Fertility charge more for the freeze all cycle (£800 for 2 cycle package)

Ah thank you for replying, so it's £800 additional to freeze all on two cycles? Can I be cheeky and ask how much it cost you and what the exclusions were/what other additional costs you had to pay?

The main exclusion is the meds but the Access Fertility prices also differ quite a bit by clinic, so your best bet is to email them and ask for their prices for the specific clinic(s) you're looking at

Ok thanks for your help!

I know Access can be used alongside PGT-A but my understanding is not PGT-M/SR, it could possibly differ between clinics though

@Lauren83 you're right, unfortunately they don't offer any of their packages in conjunction with PGT-M unfortunately 😔 I got a response today
Frustrating as it's already so much more expensive than a standard IVF cycle. Oh the joys!

I do know multi cycle and refund packages are usually based on financial modelling which is why there are different price tiers for age groups and why refund packages are subject to medical review, if something in the medical review makes the chance of success 'unpredictable' it may not be offered as an estimation would usually be considered on how much treatment (and associated costs) may be needed to reach a live birth.

I would imagine that it's difficult with PGT-M/SR as in a lot of cases there aren't always fertility issues so it could be that it's difficult to create a suitable structure, I believe this is why they aren't suitable for shared motherhood and surrogacy for eg (I'm not saying this is definitely the case with Access but I am familiar with other IVF multi cycle packages)

Hi @Hoppy1985 oh I'm sorry this doesn't work for PGT-M as well - that sounds really frustrating. I hope you can find a way forward direct with a clinic if there aren't other options. Sending all the best

I'm not sure where you are but if you use a clinic with an in house bank with no shipping fees it could be approx 1.5k difference between purchasing sperm compared to full donor screening, although if it takes multiple attempts and you want the option of sibling pregnancies then a known donor could end up more cost effective, a lot don't meet the screening criteria though as whilst there's often a little flex on things like the donors age there isn't on other things
