Hi everyone,

Hoping you can all help me out a bit.

A bit of background, last year I had my first baby and was diagnosed with cancer a week later. I'm now cancer free but the treatment has made me infertile. Since I already have a baby I don't qualify for free IVF. I was also unable to save any eggs (Had to start treatment quickly as my bowel had raptured. Also apparently it's not really possible to collect eggs so soon after giving birth.)

Anyway I've started looking into IVF with donor eggs but it's so hard to get a proper price estimate. Would anyone be able to give me a rough idea on how much we'd need to save. Any clinics you'd recommend?

Thank you all

It really depends where you go. In a regular UK fertility clinic, you would probably be looking at somewhere around £8-10k mark, but they vary a lot. It could be up to £15k at some, including the donor cost, and depending on which medications/ protocol you need, how many FET's you have (if any), if you have any travel costs, etc.

Some clinics will have multi-cycle packages where you can pay up front for 2 or 3 cycles and get a discount.

There are things like ABC IVF/ Create that might be cheaper, or going abroad. I don't know anything about those options, but if you search on here you can probably find a lot of info.

There are also refund programmes like Access Fertility, but you have to meet certain criteria - I'm not sure whether already having a child and/ or your medical history might exclude you from it, but it could be worth a look.

As for specific clinics - I am with the Lister and highly recommend them, after having a terrible experience at another clinic. I have to travel to get to London, but it's worth it. My consultant is fabulous.
