Improving Uterine lining naturally

I was meant to have my second natural FET (first one was successfully but unfortunately resulted in miscarriage at 6 weeks), I went for a scan which I had requested, not part of normal protocol, and my lining was only 6mm. Therefore made the decision not to proceed. I am speaking with the consultant tomorrow to discuss next steps, but from my discussion with the nurse, I likely have two options, supplement with estrogen on next cycle to try and improve the lining, or attempt a completely natural cycle again with the hopes this was just a ‘bad cycle’ and that it could be thicker the next time around. I don’t know how likely this is in reality, and have been desperately googling every natural remedy. I don’t know what my lining was in the last transfer as they didnt scan me (which in retrospect I am annoyed about, and I’m wondering if this could have been a factor in the miscarriage) They have tested my progesterone levels and they are very good.

I’d really like to avoid taking the estrogen so want to try and see if it is different next cycle. This cycle unfortunately coincided with some high stress at work which has now settled, and I’m wondering if this could have been a factor. Has anyone had any experience improving their lining through natural methods and/or supplements? Or had their lining thickness change from cycle to cycle with no meds? Any advice appreciated.

Morning, slightly different as I had a medicated cycle where my lining was thin, but I was advised to take vitamin E and l-arginine. I got to 7mm after that so it didn’t make a huge difference. I’ve also read pomegranate juice and red leaf tea can help, I’m not convinced but it’s easy and cheap! Have you considered acupuncture, I think that might be the next thing I try.

There is a section in the book "it all starts with an egg" that talks through vitamins to help, it recommends Vitamin E and something else (the previous post recalls this name!) 🙏

Thanks @Sunshinebytheseaside and @Lil89 . Really good to know. I have been doing acupuncture and have a call with my acupuncturist tomorrow to discuss supplements, as she’s a nutritionist as well. Vitamin e looks really promising from what I’ve now read too. And the red leaf tea and pomegranate def worth a try!

I took vitamin e, coenzyme Q10, a high dose of vitamin C and low dose aspirin. Plus a multi vitamin and an omega 3 supplement. I also drank a glass of pomegranate juice and one of beetroot juice per day. Plus I made sure I did some sort of exercise each day - often just a brisk walk (I never say brisk in real life but somehow seemed appropriate here 🤣).

I was on a medicated cycle - but did those things to help as my lining was thin.

Thanks @Always28 good to Know. Did you see an improvement in your lining with these?

I spoke to my acupuncturist/nutritionist today and she gave me a lot of information on things to try, some of which are personal to my case but may still be useful for others.

lifestyle

  • femoral artery self massage
  • warm foot baths
  • Hot water bottle or heating pad in the evening
  • Electro acupuncture
  • recommended requesting iron panel from my gp to see what my levels are and if I need to supplement

diet

  • ensure good water intake and enough protein and healthy fats
  • 2-4 tablespoons of ground flaxseed per day
  • black strap molasses
  • 300g beetroot juice per day (heated up slightly with added warm water)
  • vitamin e foods- sunflower seeds, avo and olives
  • dark chocolate, garlic, ginger and watermelon
  • Number one recommended thing in Chinese medicine is slow cooked beef every other day (I’m vegetarian so this will be a tough one, but I’m willing to try it for these purposes if my body needs it- willmake sure it’s ethically sourced and high quality etc)
  • bone broths

Herbs

  • 1 teaspoon each of raspberry leaf and nettle tea, 3 x per day

supplements

  • L’arginine , needs to be paired with vitamin c
  • NAC ( I’m a bit hesitant on this as it says on the bottle don’t take if pregnant, but she has assured me it’s safe in pregnancy and has been proven to prevent miscarriage)
  • Prenatal ( I take the bio care one)
  • bio femme probiotic

obviously don’t know if any of this will
work, but I feel better having a list of things I can control, and at least I know I did everything I could. Fingers crossed it will make a difference 🤞

@Rosie86947 I was due a transfer last month and my lining was irregular thin parts and very thick parts, had a scan this month and it's great. My clinic have said some months it can just be like that, I am waiting now until December so fingers crossed we are good for December.
I wouldn't worry it can change month to month. I do take Q10, l argine and vit e that is supposed to support lining

Rosie86947 · 18/09/2024 22:03

Thanks @camelinastorm that really encouraging to know. I’m hoping this is the case, but I have been doing all the things! Monitoring scan Friday to check the lining so fingers crossed.

@Rosie86947 yes think it can just happen, I've been taking all the vitamins and it still happened
Good luck on your scan
