Hello I wanted to reach out on here for some reassurance and help please. I fell pregnant in November which ended about 3 weeks later I was taking cyclogest from positive test. I then fell pregnant in March and went for my 12 week scan last Wednesday to find it had stopped progressing about 5 weeks. I have lean PCOS and wasn’t sure if this could be a reason for two miscarriages in a row? Would I benefit from Metformin? I also wondered if ovulation induction is a good idea to bring on a stronger ovulation ?

@Meg310532 Hi, definitely not an expert here! It sounds like you're having good success conceiving without too many issues, so it doesn't sound like ovulation induction would be useful (you don't want to increase your risk of a multiple pregnancy if you're able to conceive fairly quickly currently) so I think what I would focus on is if there is anything that can help reduce your risk of miscarriage. Were any investigations carried out to e.g. test the genetics of your pregnancies to understand if there might any been any genetic reason for the miscarriage? I think in some places you unfortunately need 3 miscarriages before you can access recurrent miscarriage services but I would see if there is any support in your area / anything they can offer in addition to cyclogest. It might be you're able to have more early scans if you become pregnant again for instance. Wishing you the best of luck.

I don't think PCOS can cause MC's unless your sugar/insulin is way out of control. Have you had any testings done?

If you fall pregnant fairly quickly you don't need Fertility treatments but need investigations. For some it could be as easy as to add progesterone or aspirin but for others it is more difficult to find the reason.
