First IVF/ICSI May

Hi ladies,

We are about to start our first ICSI cycle for secondary infertility and wondered if anyone had similar timings to share the journey for the next few weeks.

We are doing mild IVF with Kind (LWC) due to high AMH and AFC. Starting dose of 112.5 Bemfola.

@Hollielouise I had only done 3 injections by the time of my appointment this morning so hopefully that's why. I have a second scan on Saturday morning so hopefully there will be some growth by then ☺️ yes I'm the same with Google and it's not helping😂

@Hollielouise hey, we're on a low does of the cetrotide cycle. I've done two days of stims so far and have a scan tomorrow. Thankfully the injections have been fine but I think the mixing is abit tricky.

How are you both doing? Just thought I'd check in and see how stims and collection went for you?

We had 12 embryos frozen on day 5 from 18 fertilised eggs so happy with that, though surprisingly numb to all the stats and numbers and not excited yet. Waiting for my next cycle for the frozen transfer now 🫠

Stims have been going well, better than I thought tbh. I am having a scan this morning and I think egg collection will be on Wednesday. It'll be a freeze all cycle because I'm at risk of OHSS.

Do you know the timeline between egg collection and FET? Good luck

Amazing. How was the scan?

I was freeze all as well - drink loads of water and lucozade for the OHSS.

No idea on timings yet for the FET cycle. I have to wait for the withdrawal bleed from the egg collection cycle (day 12 and no bleed still) and then wait for a normal period and start the drugs then for that cycle. I think. So could be a long time sadly.

@Hollielouise hi! Great news on your frozen embryos, I bet you're so relieved to be through that stage now.

Stims were fine and my egg collection was Friday so just anxiously waiting for day 5 results which is on Wednesday 🤞my clinic decided a freeze all cycle was best as well because of OHSS risk. Touch wood, I haven't felt poorly though which is a huge relief!

@Hollielouise scan went well. Think they're just worried with the risk of OHSS, I'll be taking my trigger nasal spray shortly and then EC on Wednesday! Can't believe it's nearly done....for now!

I've just started my withdrawal bleed - 13 days after egg collection so very glad to finally be making progress towards FET.

Thanks @Hollielouise 😊 they called not too long ago and said we have 13 embryos today so I'm so happy with that! I'm on a freeze all cycle as well as they collected 27 eggs from me in the end. They froze a day 3 embryo as well. Going to try and relax now while I wait to learn next steps!

Had the EC this morning and feeling ok. 18 eggs were collected so let's see the numbers over the next few days!

Hey all! Just an update.

So from the 18 eggs collected, 10 were mature and 9 fertilised.

Day 3 update:
6 - excellent
2 - average
1 - slower
But all still developing.

Day 5 update:
5 reached blastocyst and will be frozen
4 still developing and if they reach blastocyst by tomorrow they will be frozen too!

I think I'm happy with these numbers!

How have you been feeling physically? Do you know when you'll do your FET yet?

Thank you so much! Physically I have been fine, just a lot of bloating! So much bloating that it was becoming uncomfortable but I started my period this morning which has relieved the bloating a lot and I feel a lot like myself now. I think it's nice having the break between egg collection and then FET. It gives you time to digest and understand what's been going on!
You got any dates for your FET?

@ivfjourney2024 No date for FET yet, have an app with consultant on 26th June to talk next steps

@LeoStar24 yay! Amazing numbers! Well done you that's so reassuring. I agree with the bloat - super uncomfortable and was delighted when my bleed arrived! I've actually been fine going straight into FET cycle from the withdrawal bleed - have been on Progynova since Saturday and my first lining scan on Friday. Just hope it's working 🫣

@Hollielouise amazing news that you're going straight into the FET cycle! When did you start the medication?

Yes I got the call, the four didn't develop anymore so I have 5 embryos in the freezer which I am pleased about!

@LeoStar24 aw that's great you're feeling better. I still haven't had my period and it will be 2 weeks since EC this Friday so I hope it comes soon.

I don't have any dates for FET yet either. We have a consultation next week Tuesday so will see then. We're thinking to take a break for a month or so but will see

@ivfjourney2024 wow that's quite long but I don't know what's a normal time, my period came 5days after EC!

I defo feel more like myself today which is a relief!

@Hollielouise how exciting that you've started! Keep us updated 🙂 I don't know much about FET cycles.

I've been feeling a bit hormonal this week - headachy and achy boobs lol! And yes our final numbers were 15 which we're really happy with x

@ivfjourney2024 my period didn't come until 13 days after egg collection and I was so desperate...! Hopefully it won't be long for you x
