On Day 7 after FET and my period has started

Feeling so deflated & emotional ☹️

we had your first FET 7 days ago - it was a grade A 5* blastocyst that had already started to hatch (so the nurse told me when she popped it in) I wasn’t sure what she was talking about but she seems really happy so I did too!
I was hoping this time that it would work but as my period has started & we are only half way through the 2 week wait I’m not hholding out much hope 😔

we had a fresh cycle & transfer in Feb but 4 days after the transfer I started my period. my doctor said it was just one of those things but I was worried maybe I had low progesterone so she put me on Lubion injections this time around.

I’m on Utrogestan 200mg three times a day, Progynova 2mg three time a day & Lubion 25mg injection once a day.

I’ve not had any blood tests done for this cycle or anything but wondering if I should for next time? I’ll speak to my doctor about it but if anyone has any advice or experience with this or has any suggestions of what I should be doing or taking please let me know!!

I’m gutted it looks like this cycle hasn’t worked too 😭

we have unidentified infertility so not many answers at all!

we only got 1 fresh cycle & 1 frozen transfer with the NHS so as we’ve used them both now we’ll be paying privately for our next transfers but I’d like to be as prepared as possible for my next doctors meeting so I thought I’d ask you all in case it helps me!

I'm really sorry to hear you've had a another failed transfer, hope you can take care, rest and recharge until your next cycle.

Wanted to share my experience in case it will be of any help, both my cycles have been private. I had a fresh transfer in February, a 5AA which failed to implant. At the time I was on Cyclogest twice a day (100mg progesterone each time), Progynova 2mg twice a day and Prontogest intramuscular injections (100mg progesterone) every other day. For my first cycle they did blood work to check my progesterone levels the day before transfer and it was satisfactory, so it was left at that until my bhcg blood test on 5db11pt which confirmed negative for pregnancy. I was asked to stop all my medication and bled 3 days later.

My second transfer (but this time frozen cycle) was just 2 weeks ago, this cycle my medication was 2 Everol 100 patches (12.8mg estradiol total) every other day, Cyclogest twice a day (100mg progesterone each time), and initially Prontogest intramuscular injections (100mg progesterone) every other day. My embryo implanted this time, on the day of my bhcg they tested my progesterone as well which was showing less than half of what it should be, I was immediately put on a higher dose of meds. Same for patches, but changed to Cyclogest 3 times a day and daily prontogest injections in hopes this will be enough to boost my progesterone.

The doctor said normally when the embryo implants the body will also start make progesterone, but they have seen in some cases - and also in my case it seems as though my body didn't start or isn't making enough progesterone.

Not saying that your issue is progesterone, but when you select your private clinic, definitely be ready with your transfer history and medication given to you, based on that they should be adjusting your medication to what is most suitable given your overall health condition. If progesterone is your issue, your Lubion is 25mg of progesterone in a single shot, if you compare that to prontogest which is 4 times that in a single shot. Medical studies say pessaries and progesterone injections are equally effective, but if you're finding your high dose of pessaries doesn't seem to be working, it would be worth asking for more shots. Just a heads up if going private, your clinic will also most likely ask you to redo all your initial tests as they will want your AMH, pelvic ultrasound report, partners sperm analysis and both your blood work thats in date up to 3 months and vaccination history.

I've had a friend given the same medical protocol for 3 transfers - no changes! While I would say we should always trust our doctor as they are medically trained and we are not, I can understand the frustration if you might feel like you're not being listened to or they aren't doing enough. Its fantastic we have an NHS but as we all know it is massively underfunded, so the time they can give you with appointments and routine testing will be limited compared to a private practice.

Wishing you good luck on your next cycle! x
