Hi ladies

Thinking to go abroad to do lVF for cheaper option 🤔
What's the pros and cons?
How did you stay?
How much did everything cost including staying hotels
And which countries or country would you recommend?
I was thinking probably Eypt.. but I am open to suggestions.

Hi, we did IVF in Greece. It was definitely cheaper.

Pros
Cheap
Brilliant service, far better service than what we received from private clinic in the UK

Cons
For tracking scans, I needed to go to clinic which they approved of, and had to pay each time. If clinic is local, these scans are included in treatment.
For egg collection and transfer, exact date is never known so we had to add couple of days before and after.
Taking days off from work , not knowing when exactly you need off caused some difficulties at work.
Multiple attempts took a financial toll on us, as well planning travel was a bit tiring.

First away attempt - we stayed near the clinic.
Further attempts - we made it in to a little break, sometimes stayed in near by city or beach locations.

Our attempts were before COVID and during that time, so cost will vary a lot now. We did ICSi with PGT, and I think at that time it came to total of £5k , excluding hotel and travelling. I remember once doing calculations, including travel and hotels, we were coming just under the cost of IVF in the UK( Create- Bank clinic ), with better tech and better customer service.

I would recommend New life Greece any time. We did look in to clinics all over the Europe. For us, this was the clinic that took time to respond to our queries every time and was suitable for our requirements.

We are using TRNC (north Cyprus) I've heard turkey is also really good.
We are tying it in with a family holiday so 2 birds one stone and all that.
Pros cheeper, no extra charge for higher meds, ICSI or blood work, We are able to transfer 3 embryos so a higher success rate
Much cheeper for the whole thing.

Cons you may have to get meds yourself but they send a prescription over and you can check in at stork or Asda for a good price (if you use turkey they send the med direct so slightly cheeper
you have to travel to the clinic whilst on holiday (in my case), if you require a Ans they are done in the UK at extra cost (I am going for 3 weeks so all is done there)
We just couldn't afford another 9k when overseas it's 3k

Going aboard for us seems alot more expensive! I'm looking at serum in Greece its costing 10k when you add in flights accommodation testing etc
Here in Ireland ivf costs 4k to 5k
We did have 2 failed ivf rounds in Ireland so going abroad is our last option.
Did you decide on which clinic you will use for your ivf?
