Good morning. Will try keep this short!

TTC baby two for approx 18 months now. We are lucky to have a 2.5yr old, it took over three years to get pregnant with him, and I had ovarian diathermy to assist, plus various other surgical interventions (separating adhesions etc).

I have known PCOS and Adenomyosis and I am regularly in a lot of pelvic pain. Cycles irregular but typically every 30-40 days.

we’ve been referred to fertility but I know we won’t qualify for any funding as have our DS. Saving with the intention of going private next year.

im currently recovering from an infection (and query Pelvic Inflammatory Disease) which has knocked me for six. Group A Strep was found on my vaginal swab. It seems to have cleared now. I’ve been feeling very poorly for around 6 weeks.

I have some visible abnormality on my cervix, discovered when my GP was examining and taking the strep swab.

I was referred on the NHS 2 week suspected cancer pathway and I have a colposcopy on Monday. My last smear was 8 months ago and clear which is reassuring.

I am fairly confident the colposcopy will also be clear, and my body has now cleared this infection.

Has anyone else been through acute gynae conditions whilst also juggling long term infertility and how did you cope mentally?

part of me wants to treat it as a “fresh start” once the colposcopy is out of the way, as we’ve been unable to try whilst I had the infection. I feel a renewed sense of energy/ hope and “this could work!!”

deep down though we’re still dealing with PCOS, Adenomyosis and I don’t know whether to just “give up” and mentally prepare for treatment in the new year and if we fall on naturally by then, great.
