Progesterone and FET

Hello,

I'm currently 10dp5dt.
I requested for my progesterone bloods to be taken as I experienced some slight spotting day 4 and 6 and have done in previous cycles. My clinic weren’t keen but reluctantly agreed. They were taken yesterday and returned a result of 20.5nmol/L which they have said is on the “lower side”. From my frantic research is more than lower side but actually very low. I’ve spoke to the doctor at the clinic they have asked that I take lubion.

I can’t help but feel it’s all a little pointless now given the low levels. Has anyone else had any similar experiences?

I experienced spotting with unsuccessful 2 transfers, on the third transfer, I was put on very high dose of progesterone since the day of transfer (they only tested my levels the day before transfer) and until 12 weeks (pessaries twice a day + lubion injection once a day). I think it helped. But I still spotted on and off (sometimes really heavy bleeds) from week 5 to 10.... Sometimes the spotting is due to low progesterone, sometimes it's just a normal thing due to broken blood vessels etc.

But if something is wrong with an embryo, no amount of progesterone will help. So you never know really, but it's good to take as a precaution as it wont hurt you I was told.

In other words, see how you do, maybe insist on more progesterone if needed. Keep asking them. Good luck!!!

My progesterone levels are always low and cyclogest alone doesn't help. I also take Lubion daily and havent spotted on this with the previous 2 failed FETs. I have my third FET booked in for Tuesday and started progesterone yesterday. They say injecting progesterone is absorbed better than using cyclogest.

I did ask if one can have too much progesterone and the nurse said no - online says otherwise. Typical NHS!

Thanks you both for replies.
This unfortunately was my third transfer (1x fresh and now x2 frozen) that have been unsuccessful. Your right if the embryo is not meant be it won’t implant. I just can’t help think that if my levels had been within the expected range it would have had a better chance. Feeling very deflated.
