Metformin and Inofolic - effects on cycle

Hi
Has anyone with PCOS who has taken metformin and inofolic noticed any lengthening of cycles whilst taking these?

I have variable cycles but never usually longer than 30 days.
Cycle is 33 days this month - I think probably just the PCOS and stress, as I think usually metformin and inofolic regulate and shorten cycles?

Thanks

I haven't taken inofolic but I was on clomid cycles with metformin, which didn't work so I did Letrozole + metformin and it worked.

My cycles were 45-55 days before I started and after it was anywhere between 30-33 days.

How long have you been taking them? I was on both of these a few years ago and my cycle regulated but did mess around a bit first. I also regulated to 32/33 days. As far as I know, 28-35 is considered 'normal'. I was on metformin for a year before I started Inofolic. Metformin helped my periods and Inofolic helped me to ovulate. Stick with it Smile

I forgot to mention I went from 45-60 day cycles to 32/33.

Thanks!
I've only been taking metformin for 1-month and inofolic maybe 6-weeks or so so early days.
My cycle is usually between 28 - 31 days so is regular, but l don't think I always ovulate as mid luteal progesterone was low. So think some of them must be anovulatory even if somewhat regular

Dr said metformin and inofolic can help with egg quality in PCOS so guess there is no harm taking it. Just don't want it to make cycles longer!

Yeah I think I had a few months of it being funny before regulating. I never took blood tests but I had EWCM for the first time and only mid cycle once starting Inofolic so I assumed it kick started my ovulation. Also heard it's great for egg quality :)

Thanks. I will persevere with it then. Fingers crossed.

Can I ask what dose of metformin did you take? - they said to gradually increase to 500mg three times a day for me

I also started on 500mg and went up to 1000mg at the most as 1500mg gave me some gastro issues I think this is common and some people just find ways of managing it but I just stuck with 1000mg. I remember reading on forums people saying 1500mg minimum was needed to make any difference but also read that it depended on weight? Not sure if any of that is accurate but 1000mg helped me. I'm considering going back on it as my periods regulated after my son but gone funny again and metformin helped me with cravings.
